Title Rejoice! (Luke 10:17-20)
Contents
There are many characteristics of the Christian life, but I think the most representative characteristic is probably the life of joy. A person of good faith is always a person full of joy. This is because joy is a fruit of the Spirit. A person filled with the Holy Spirit is full of joy and joy. Heaven is a place of joy. A beautiful church and a healthy church are a church full of joy.
Many people in the world try to find joy in their possessions.
When you think you have a lot of something, you rejoice. But having so much can sometimes only add to the worry.
Others seek pleasure in fulfillment.
It is futile to enjoy the joy of being satisfied when a need is satisfied, whether mentally or physically.
Others seek joy from a sense of accomplishment.
When you create something or achieve something, you are happy that you accomplished it yourself. That, too, is impermanent.
However, the joy that believers enjoy among the stories in the Bible is different.
1. It refers to the joy of harvest of farmers as representative joy.
(Psalm 126:5-6) Those who sow in tears will reap with joy. Whoever goes out weeping to sow seed will surely return with joy, carrying the sheaf. Farmers have the joy of harvest.
2. The joy of sharing the spoiled water, this is the joy of being in a war situation.
(Isaiah 9:3) Because you have multiplied this nation and increased its joy, they rejoice before you as in the harvest and as joy in dividing the spoils.
3. The greatest joy is the joy of being persecuted for the sake of righteousness.
(Matthew 5:10-13) Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they curse and persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in this way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
The joy a Christian enjoys is mysterious. It is characterized by joy that has passed through toil and pain. In John 16, Jesus compares this to the joy of being a child. It is a joy that cannot be taken away. It is said that joy swallowed up pain.
However, the joy shown in today's text has a different meaning.
4. Rejoice that your name is written in heaven.
But do not rejoice that the demons submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven (Luke 10:20).
When Jesus sent out 70 people, go out and preach the gospel. Preach the gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons, and work while displaying your power. The Lord sent you with power. These people go out and preach the gospel. See the ghosts and go out! So everyone goes out. How amazing is this? They would be surprised too. I've had a lot of these experiences. The gospel is preached through them, the power is revealed through them, sick people rise through them, demons are cast out, and they come back and report back now after experiencing many strange things. This happened and this happened. When we are bragging about our work, Jesus now says: There is nothing to brag about that a demon has gone out and healed the sick.
“Rejoice that your name is written in heaven.” is that
1) There is nothing to rejoice in demons surrender.
Jesus says: Just because you've been ill today, or did something good, doesn't mean you'll like it that much. Now, it is neither achievement nor popularity nor ability nor self-promotion.
2) Rejoice that my name is written in heaven.
There is only one reason for the believer to rejoice. It is the fact that my name is written in heaven. Please know that no matter how many good deeds you do, if your name is not written in the book of life, you will go into the lake of fire. Therefore, rejoice over this that his name is written in heaven.
(Rev 20:15) Whosoever was not written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
Apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:3 to help Clement and my co-workers. Why?
Because their names are in the book of life.
Just imagine that you and I are going to die today.
One of our church deacons is doing it today and tomorrow. That butler always tells me.
I have 30 million won. Find it and give it all to God. No matter how much I think about it, I've never done anything for God's work, even though I've been doing good things.
When I try to go before God, I just get caught. You should really rejoice in the fact that your name is recorded in the kingdom of God. “Lay up riches in heaven, and rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
In 2 Timothy 4, the apostle Paul went all the way and kept the faith. That's why I said I was happy.
Where do you put the meaning of my life? Where do I put the true value of my work?
I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will rejoice only in the fact that my name is written in heaven.
Anyone whose name is not written in the book of life will go into the second death.
Dear saints, there is no need to rejoice over this or that now. It's all useless. Only rejoice that your name is written in the kingdom of heaven. God chose me and God hired me. It means that you have accomplished a great work through me and that I have been able to live by adding a little to that holy work. It says rejoice in this. Today is already the last week of August.
If you and I thought it was the end of our lives, what could make us happy now?
