Hymn: 278 “Before the Beloved Lord”
Meditation: Do you not live a life of estimating yourself from the group, thinking that if you are smart alone you will be able to live well?
Confession of Faith: Apostles' Creed
main text… From him the whole body is connected and united with the help of each joint, and works according to the measure of each part, so that it grows and builds itself up in love... (Ephesians 4:15-16)
We must first establish a good relationship with people. Christ is the goal of growth. Christ is the source of nourishment for growth. We each receive grace and truth from Christ, who is full of grace and truth (John 1:14). Each of us is supplied with wisdom and knowledge from Christ, who has all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). When each of us shares with one another what we have received from Christ, we benefit tremendously.
When connected, you live, and when disconnected, you die. For example, when a person retires, why do they suddenly grow old? When you retire, your mind becomes weak first and then your body becomes weak due to the consciousness of ‘I am no longer useless!’
We must also bear the vein of truth. In verse 15 there is an expression, “speaking the truth in love.” One English Bible (NIV) aptly translates this verse as 'Speak the truth in love'. It's about telling the truth in love when it's revealed that the other is wrong as we fellowship.
Watch your children grow up too. Seeing a child with poor manners, people ask, 'Do you have no mother and father?' This is because we can do the right thing only when we fall into the framework of the discipline of mom and dad who make us do right things.
Finally, we must experience grace. Verse 15 says, “Speak the truth in love.” If we speak the truth or truth without love, we cannot experience growth and healing. For example, if you tell a new believer who has attended the evangelism meeting for a long time about the pain of the family, the new believer does not want to attend the church and sometimes leaves the church forever.
You can't live smart alone. Do not separate yourself from the church community.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us as individuals and the church grow in relationships. Help me to experience healing and restoration by experiencing the truth and grace in the networks of Christians.
