Title Religion of Serving
Contents
World history is so much a history of religion that religions have arisen in every place in each era. From religions that worship nature to those that consecrate people as gods, I see that religion has been a very important center of life in the culture of human history.
It is said that there are eight million gods in Japan, as well as many gods in Europe and the West, including the three major religions of the world. There are many religions and sects in Korea. However, not all religions are the same. However, if we can broadly divide them biblically, there is Christianity, which believes in God as the Creator and eternal life through Jesus Christ, and there is the religion of mischievous gods.
Recently, the Korean church has emerged as a very good church that serves society by providing meals for the unemployed and the homeless, especially after the I.M.F. Helping those in difficult circumstances is what we do well as a medium of the charity movement from the church's service level.
The problem is that there are things that should not be left out when examining the core of Christianity's essential religion biblically. I hope to become a believer. From a moral point of view, Christianity is a religion of worship. So, what kind of religion is it?
1. It is a religion that serves God
Religion usually has a revivalist character. Since we cannot live in the world arbitrarily, we choose a religion, so we have a religion to obtain cultural benefits. We pray, dedicate, and even devote ourselves to material blessings and peace of mind.
Jesus came to this world for the Father's will, and he prayed with blood and sweat in the Garden of Gethsemane that the Father's will would be done. And he endured to the point of shedding blood on the cross and finally achieved the Father's goal and said 'It is finished' on the cross.
John 19:30 “After Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, It is finished.” He bowed his head and died.
In serving God, those who misunderstand God's love cause problems. They say that there is salvation in other religions and that you cannot criticize other religions. But there is only one God.
Neh 9:6 “You are the Lord, who made the heavens, the heavens of the heavens, the sun, the moon, the holy spirit, the earth, and all that is on the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and preserves them all; all the hosts of heaven worship you.”
Colossians 1:16 “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities all things were created through him and for him.”
Just as you cannot serve God and money at the same time in the text, you cannot serve God and other gods at the same time.
1 Corinthians 8:4 “Therefore, concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that idols are nothing in the world, and that there is only one God.”
Therefore, God is the only true God, and there is only one God to serve. You must know how to consider this and become a true believer. In the age of religious diversification, various false gospels are disturbing the church society. We must listen carefully to the warnings of the last days and give serious consideration to the salvation of our souls. 2 Timothy 4:3 “The time will come when people will not receive sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate many teachers to suit their own desires.”
Among the believers, there are those who believe that they will come to God and receive God's blessings, which they consider to be the same as ordinary religious practices. You need to know right away. The Christian faith is called to serve God.
Ephesians 1:5-6 “He predestined us to be his sons through Jesus Christ, according to his good pleasure, to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely gave us in him whom he loved.”
When we believe in God, first we receive the forgiveness of sins and receive the promise of eternal life, but at the same time, we must become those who serve God. It is natural to serve our spiritual parent, the creator of all things, and our master.
To get the cultural benefits of living in the world from God without thinking that way is actually using God. This chapter uses the word father several times (1,4,6,8,9,14,18,26,32). It is a precious gift to dare to call God Father.
Galatians 4:5-7 “to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the sonship, 6 God sent the Spirit of the Son into our hearts, calling you Abba, Father, because you are sons. 7 Therefore, from now on you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if you are a son, then you are an heir through God.
2. It is a religion that serves people
At the Last Supper, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. John 13:14 "I have washed your feet, as Lord and Teacher, so you also ought to wash one another's feet."
Christianity aims for eternal life and lives as servants on earth. This is also the spirit of the cross of Christ. The cross also gives meaning as a sign that binds God and earthly people, and between humans and humans, to become one.
Matthew 20:28 “For the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
Being a Christian and never serving others is not a mature believer. All those who are moved by God's salvation will have an attitude of respecting and serving people.
The word servant appears in the Bible, which means to serve, to serve. 24 When it is said, “No one can serve two masters...you cannot serve both God and money.”
Even those who are rejected and despised in the world, when they come to church, they receive comfort, encouragement, and love from the saints as a noble being. This is the proper church. The church is a place that values people's souls and raises them personally. As a socially participatory religion, the church has done a lot of pitying people through medical care and educational missionary work.
Proverbs 11:25 “He who loves alms will prosper, and he who refreshes others will be refreshed.”
There are many rich people who are blessed with the precious work of serving and giving to neighbors. Countries devoted to missions are blessed. Buddhism is a post-social religion and Maho
