Title: Remember Your Creator!

Text: Ecclesiastes 12:1-8, Luke 22:14-23

The words of Solomon, the king of wisdom. ‘Without God, everything is in vain. It is futile and impermanent.’ King Solomon, who received extraordinary wisdom from God (1 Kings 3:1-15), lived an unprecedented life not only in wisdom but in all areas of his life. The writing contains the experiences gained from living a tumultuous life. 'Learning is unsatisfying (1:7,8), wisdom causes many troubles and anxieties (1:16-18), pleasure leaves only disappointment in the end (2:1,2), and business is only a chasm (2). :17), toil is only fatigue and sorrow (2:18-23), philosophy is ephemeral and worthless (3:1-9), the heart cannot satisfy its thirst for eternity (3:11), and life is also death. This blessing (4:2), riches also cause sleeplessness (5:12), life also leads to setbacks (6:12), and good deeds are also fruitless' (11:1-8). The absence of God turns everything into vain.

Overcoming nothingness (虛無克服) is returning to God. The second is to go to the father's house (Luke 15:20). It is the eldest son's understanding of his father's heart and turning his wrong heart (Luke 15:25-32). Going back to my father's house is the way to live. It's a way out of the way of debauchery (虛浪放蕩). This is the eldest son's way to regain his joy There is that wisdom in today's Word. “Remember your Creator!” (Ecclesiastes 12:1). ‘Remember your Redeemer!’ (Remember me! Luke 22:19). Although we live ‘under the sun’, it is telling us that we should live ‘under the sun’. It is a way to live on earth but without forgetting the sky. In this sense, our Creator God is the One who makes the meaning of all life. He gives meaning to every journey of life (birth, growth, education, marriage, parent-child relationship, death).

“Remember your Creator!” (Ecclesiastes 12:1). It reveals the majestic authority, majesty, and power of a great God that no one can match. He was made in the image of God. You have made it an object of fellowship and a channel of blessing. It makes us realize our self-esteem and identity, our rights and obligations. We are not mass-produced commodities, but the works of God the Creator (Genesis 1:26; Ephesians 2:10). The lord of all things. It is a creature created to reveal the glory of God the Creator. Westminster Great Catechism, answer number one. ‘What is man’s foremost and supreme purpose? Man's chief and supreme end is to glorify God, and to fully enjoy him forever.' “This people I have formed for myself, that they may sing my praises” (Isaiah 43:21). .

Remembering the creator is better. ‘Before the days of trouble come, before the year draws near, when I say I have no pleasure in it’. The result of that memory is “the realization of a life that fears God and keeps His commandments” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). This is the noble duty of man who was made to resemble the image of God. Our Creator made us with a will. So, we have a mission entrusted to us with blessings. Fellowship with you is, of course, governing all things according to the divine will (Genesis 1:26-28). Therefore, there is a judgment on the performance of the mission. “God will judge every deed and every secret thing, good or evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:14). There can be no emptiness here. The process of redemption through Christ and sanctification through God the Holy Spirit, also the gospel. ‘Remember your Creator!’ Amen.
