Title [Rev 12:1-17] Guarantees of Victory
As long as there is a guarantee of victory, any war can be waged proudly. As long as there is a guarantee that the church of the last days will win the war against the devil, we will be able to prepare for war without fear and boldly. The text gives us the assurances that guarantee victory. I hope that all of us will accept these words by faith, boldly prepare for spiritual warfare, and win abundantly.
1. Christ has triumphed (1-6).
2. The Archangel Michael was victorious (7-9).
In heaven, the battle between the angels led by Michael and the demons led by the devil was fierce, but in the end, Michael was victorious and the devil was cast out to earth. This is another guarantee of victory for us. The devil is the one who deceives the world. Verse 9 says, “The great dragon was cast out, the old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, and was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” The devil is the one who deceives the whole world. Thousands of souls fall into that delusion and distrust the Lord and suffer eternal punishment. Adam and Eve, who were created in the image of God and enjoyed the blessings of Eden, also fell for the deception, so their craftiness cannot be described. You must always be careful not to fall for the trick. All the heavenly armies and angels, centering on Michael, are beings sent to help us. Hebrews 1:14 says, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent out to serve those who will inherit salvation?” All angels are sent to serve us. They defeated the devil and won, so we are guaranteed victory. With this confidence, we must boldly defeat the devil.
3. There is a special providence of God (13-17).
The dragon (the devil) persecutes the woman (the church) again. He even vomits water from his mouth like a river, trying to wash away the woman (15). But the earth helped the woman and swallowed the water. It shows the special grace of God helping the church. The church is protected by God. God is in charge until the end. The promise, “Behold, I will always be with you, even to the end of the world” is an unchanging word. God's protection is another guarantee for victory. Through tribulation, persecution, or all kinds of deceit, the devil will cause us to betray the Lord. Let's become wise saints who always prepare for such spiritual battles. I hope that the saints who believe in the victory of Christ, the victory of Michael, and God's protection are guaranteed of victory and confidently defeat the devil.
