Title [Rev 1:1-3] Blessed One
Today is the first Sunday of the new year. It is true that when a new year comes, believers and unbelievers alike start the year with a wish for blessings. All the members of today's worship service will have the same heart. Through the text, we want to receive grace by examining who the blessed ones are. The book of Revelation is by no means easy to interpret. Therefore, if you interpret too deeply, you may make a mistake. So I'm going to focus on the didactic aspect while dealing with it more simply. As we already know, the Book of Revelation is eschatological. It was written for the purpose of comforting and encouraging believers in suffering by showing the great tribulation and judgment, eternal punishment and happiness that were realized before and after the second coming of Jesus Christ, and encouraging them to keep their faith until the end. Therefore, the saints should have the grace to overcome all tribulations with greater firmness in their faith as they read and listen to the Book of Revelation. Today, I would like to talk to you about three things under the theme of ‘the Blessed One’.
1. God wants us to have knowledge of the spiritual world.
2. John tested of everything that God had revealed.
3. God wants us to be blessed.
“Blessed are those who read and hear the words of this prophecy, and keep what is written in them, for the time is near” (3). God does not want us to live a cursed and unhappy life. He wants to be blessed and live. You told me the secret. Blessed are those who read the Word, those who hear it, and those who keep it. It's very simple. But I can't put it into practice. In particular, there are too many saints who cannot do it. Let's diligently read and listen to God's Word in the new year. And let's put it into practice. If you do that, God will give you great blessings both physically and spiritually. I hope that countless believers will appear who testify that they received great blessings at the end of the year by practicing this life.
