Title [Rev 4:1-3] Throne of God
While John was exiled to the island of Patmos and suffered severe pain, he went to heaven at the invitation of God. The first thing I saw when I entered heaven through the open door was the throne, and it was God who sat on the throne. Today, I would like to introduce the throne of God and receive grace.
1. This throne is the throne of grace.
2. This throne is the throne of the reign of all things.
The seat of the throne symbolizes power, authority, and glory. God sits on this throne and rules all things. None of this is accidental or spontaneous. Everything exists under the rule of God. Order, harmony, beauty, time and breath are all products of God's reign. You are doing all these acts of government from the throne. That act of governing all things is very detailed and accurate. God said that even if a sparrow fell to the ground, it was by the will of God. Let's believe that he is in control of even a single tree and a plant. Let us believe in the fact that the beauty and fragrance of a single wild flower is also attributed to the reign of God. The Lord said, “How much more must it be you?” (Matthew 6:30) Let us have great faith and become saints who live by giving their worries to the Lord. Also, let us become saints who live humbly in obedience to God's rule.
3. This throne is the throne of God's judgment.
In Revelation 5 and below, God's terrible judgment is recorded, and in Revelation 20:11-15, the scene of judging all people according to their deeds is recorded. The text says that the one who sat on the throne looked at God like a jasper and a stone of publicity. The jasper symbolizes holiness (cleanliness) and the public stone symbolizes God's wrath and judgment against sin. I hope that you will come to the throne and think about being judged and become saints who live faithfully every day. God's judgment can be summarized in two main ways.
① It is a judgment against God and unbelief. The judgment on whether you believe in God or not is very strict. No one can deceive God. You should know that there may be many unbelievers among those in the church. Jesus said, “Will the world find faith when the Son of Man comes?” (Luke 18:8) This means that those who live by faith will be rare at the end of the world. Now, we distinguish between believers and unbelievers based on whether we attend church or not, but when God really judges us, we must strive to become true believers knowing that there will be unbelievers among those in the church.
② It is a judgment for actions. Unbelievers are not even subject to this judgment. Because they have already been cast to hell. Therefore, the act here is a judgment that determines whether or not we are faithful to the work entrusted to us by the Lord. In other words, it is a judgment for the reward. In 1 Corinthians 15:58 Paul said, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” We realize that we must be loyal to the tasks entrusted to us. Rather than liking that you have been given a lot, you need to know that God is looking for many things and strive to leave more. In fact, even if we give our all, it does not mean that we have been faithful. But we must do our best. Let's become all the saints who do not neglect the office they have received from the Lord. Let us become believers who are always conscious of the throne of grace, the throne of government, and the throne of judgment.
