Title [Rev 4:4-11] Four living creatures
John witnessed the throne of God and the throne of the twenty-four elders, followed by the four living creatures. They were like lions, like calves, like men, and like eagles. Now, we want to receive grace by examining the spiritual lessons that the four living creatures show.
1. They were those who served God closest to them.
Verse 6 says, “There were four living creatures in the middle of the throne and around the throne.” It can be seen that they were beings who acted as God's Guards. It is an infinite honor and blessing to be able to serve God closely. There is no doubt that they are loyal beings trusted and approved by God. Even in the church on earth, those who serve God closely are those who have received great blessings. Let's never be the ones around us. When doing God's work, you must always be the central figure. Don't try to be the central figure yourself. You must receive God's approval and gain the trust of those around you. To do this, you must have truth and loyalty, and you must have a unique sense of duty and hard work. We sincerely ask that all of our members will serve as central figures in God's work.
2. They were beings who served God with insight and agility.
Verse 6 says, “They were full of eyes before and behind” and in verse 8, “The four living creatures each had six wings, and they were full of eyes in and around them.” Eyes are insight. Those who serve God must have insight. You must have the insight to clearly understand the will of God, and you must have the insight to know and deal with the forces of evil that oppose God. Those who are dark in spirit cannot do the Lord's work faithfully. The six wings represent speed, or agility. Lazy people cannot do the Lord's work properly. “Do not be lazy in diligence, be zealous and serve the Lord” (Romans 12:11). We have no enthusiasm. They look lazy and lazy. I fear that the Lord will rebuke me for this. Jeremiah 48:10 says, “Cursed is anyone who neglects the work of the Lord.” We want our members to be faithful servants who have insight and do all the work of the Lord with agility.
3. They were beings who gave glory, honor, and thanks to them day and night without ceasing.
4. The four living creatures were in the shape of a lion, a calf, a man, and an eagle (7).
