Title Right or Left (Matthew 25:31-46)
Content The saints live longingly waiting for the day of the Lord's return, rather than the riches and honors or complacency on this earth. Even if there are sad or tearful events on this earth, I will be patient while thinking about that day.
Some wait with excitement and excitement, while others wait with fear and trembling, longing for the coming day.
The Gospel of Matthew that we read today is often called the Gospel of Judgment.
Because this book contains many lessons about judgment,
Matthew 3:10, 7:24, 13:30, 47:50,
The text I read today describes the process of the final judgment on the day of the great judgment.
Focusing on the text of the text, I am going to study the word under the title, Is it on the Lord's right hand or on the left hand?
1 Sheep on the right and goats on the left, verses 32, 33,
The meaning of verse 32 in the text is that just as a shepherd who is an expert in shepherding must distinguish sheep from goats, the Lord, the great shepherd of mankind, is the Creator and Judge of all nations, so his judgment is absolutely accurate.
And the right-hand side of verse 33 refers to a safe place, that is, heaven, and the left-hand side refers to hell.
1) Sheep are white and goats are black.
Hin symbolizes forgiveness or purity,
01:18 Come, let us reason together, says the LORD, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
01:19 If ye are willing and obedient, ye shall eat of the good produce of the earth.
01:20 If you refuse and betray, the sword will swallow you up, saith the LORD.”
Black symbolizes condemnation and hell. Only the sheep of God who have been forgiven and sanctified through the blood merit of Jesus Christ will enter the kingdom of heaven.
2) Sheep do not have horns, but goats have horns and have a habit of receiving them.
The saved Lamb of God is characterized by naivety and kindness,
But the goat that is perishing is characterized by its ferocity, the goat is fearlessly accepted by anyone, sometimes even the Lord, or even the anointed servants sent by the Lord himself
Psalm 105:15 “For he said, ‘Touch not my anointed, and do not harm my prophet.”
The problem is not that the saints have done many miracles.
3) Sheep like to be low, but goats like to be high.
The true Lamb is characterized by being humble before God and before men. But goats always like high places.
The Lamb of the Lord always considers others better than me and loves to serve,
4) The sheep follow the shepherd, but the goats are forced.
Sheep are gentle in nature, and even thousands of sheep will follow the shepherd's guidance.
But the goats are ruthless and must be pulled by their necks to be forcibly dragged away,
2 The judges set up separately on the right and on the left record why this happened,
1) What did the Lord say to the sheep standing on the right hand?
Matthew 25:34 Then the king said to those on his right hand, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Matthew 25:35 I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
Matthew 25:36 Naked and clothed me, I was sick and I visited you, I was in prison and you came to see me.
“When I was hungry … you fed me, you gave me drink, you welcomed me, you clothed me, you looked after me,
In this verse, the sheep on the right side did not see Christ in the many people they helped, but Christ sees all their good deeds and praises them.
2) What did the Lord say to the goats on the left?
Matthew 25:42 I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not receive me, Naked and you did not clothe me, I was sick and you were in prison. I did not look back.”
What we should note here is that the Lord did not say to them, “Why did you not keep the commandments, disobey the law, and commit a great sin? You groan like this here for your sins.”
Only the sins of omission and laziness are pointed out one by one,
Luke 16:19-31
3 What is the difference between right and left
Right: Matthew 25:34 At that time the king said to those on his right hand, Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Left: Matthew 25:41 And he said to them on the left, "Depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
1) Blessings are on the right, but curses are on the left.
2) On the right side, we are united with God, but on the left side we are united with the devil.
3) Those on the right hand side will inherit the eternal kingdom that God has prepared for His people from the foundation of the world. But the one on the left enters the unquenchable fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
Then where should we stand?
Conclusion: Now, today's message is summarized.
Romans 14:11 It is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."
Romans 14:12 Therefore, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Romans 14:13 Be careful, then, that we no longer judge one another, but rather that we shall not bump into each other or set before our brothers as harsh things.
Romans 14:14 Whatever I know and am convinced of in the Lord Jesus is not unclean in itself, except to the one who considers it unclean.
Judgment is evident even in the light of these words, and that day is one day closer today than yesterday. How should we, the saints living in these times, live, May we all become saints who live right in the faith until we stand at the Lord's right hand wish,
