Proverbs 13:1-25.

1 A wise son listens to his father's instruction,

The scornful do not listen to rebuke. 2 A man is blessed by the fruit of his mouth,

A deceitful spirit is oppressed. 3 He who guards his mouth preserves his life.

Destruction comes to those who open their lips wide 4 The lazy person desires in his heart, but does not obtain it.

The heart of the diligent is rich. 5 The righteous hate lies, but the wicked do their evil deeds and come to shame. 6 Justice protects the upright, and evil destroys the sinner. there are those who have nothing

There are those who pretend to be poor and have riches. 8 A man's wealth can be a ransom for his life,

The poor will not be threatened. 9 The light of the righteous shines brightly, and the lamp of the wicked goes out. 10 Pride only arises out of strife. But he who listens to counsel has wisdom. 12 A wish is slow to come true, it breaks the heart,

A wish comes true is a tree of life. 13 Whoever despises the word brings ruin to himself.

He who fears the commandment is rewarded. 14 The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life.

It brings us out of the snares of death. 15 Good wisdom shows mercy, but the way of the wicked is rough. 16 The prudent walk with knowledge

A beautiful person reveals his beauty. 17 An evil angel may fall into calamity, but a faithful messenger is good medicine. 18 Destitution and shame come to those who disobey instruction.

19 Those who receive warnings are honored. 19 When wishes are fulfilled, they are sweet in their hearts, but fools do not want to turn away from evil. 20 Walk with the wise and you will gain wisdom, but associate with fools and you will be harmed. 21 Calamities follow sinners, and good Retribution comes to the righteous. 22 A good man leaves his inheritance to their children and grandchildren.

The riches of the sinner are laid up for the righteous. 23 The poor cultivates a field, and his bread is abundant.

There are those who squander their possessions because of iniquity. 24 He who spares the rod hates his children.

He who loves his children is diligent in discipline. 25 The righteous devour, but the stomach of the wicked is hungry.

* The essence of the righteous is like the image of God.

It's about being a new creature.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

 

1. The righteous hate and dislike lies. (5)

 

2. The righteous act as light and salt. (9)

Matthew 5:13-16 13 Ye are the salt of the world; if salt loses its taste, with what shall it be salted?

After that, it is of no use, but being thrown out and trampled on by men. 14 You are the light of the world, and a city on a hill cannot be hidden.

Therefore it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men,

See your good deeds and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

3. The righteous have true blessings. (22, 25)
