Vessel II (Romans 9:19-24)
If there is a weakness in Korean, it is that it lacks a lot of nouns. We really like the collection. And it's very scientific. Our language is very high level. However, if there is a weakness, the noun is a bit lacking. The vessel we usually use is also a vessel, but we also use the word vessel to describe people.
The second has a large bowl and a small bowl. A large bowl contains food that several people eat together and food that needs to be eaten a lot. But a small bowl holds food that can be eaten in small portions. Large bowls are rice bowls, soup bowls, stew bowls, spoons, and earthenware bowls, and small bowls are soy sauce bowls, salted fish bowls, and Jongjaegi bowls. By the way, it doesn't matter whether it's a large bowl or a small bowl, I'll say it again. It also matters whether or not it is used or not.
Third, there are clean dishes and there are dirty dishes. In 2 Timothy 2:21, it says, 'Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he becomes a vessel for honor, sanctified, fit for the master's use, and prepared for every good work'. A man's mind wants to be used as a large vessel even if it is a little messy, but God's mind wants to be used cleanly even though it is a little small. People are clean or dirty, bigger or less than that. This is important. However, God's thoughts are more important than whether they are big or small, whether they are clean or not. Let's look at Daniel. Looking at Daniel 6:4, the kings who were not clean before God were larger vessels. However, because it was a dirty vessel, King Nebuchadnezzar, King Belshazzar, King Darius, and King Cyrus were all deposed, but we must learn from history that the clean Daniel passed through four generations and, although inferior to the king, was used for a long time.
The fourth is a strong vessel and a weak vessel. In 1 Peter 3:7 we read, “Husbands, in the same way cohabit with your wives according to knowledge, for she is the weaker vessel and the wife is the weaker vessel, and as one who will also inherit the grace of life, count it and cherish it. so that prayer may not be blocked.' Yes. There are strong vessels and there are weak vessels.
Fifth, there are vessels that can be used and there are vessels that cannot be used. In Hebrews 12:16, we read, 'Fear that there are some who are immoral, and perhaps there are some who are vain, like Esau, who sold the birthright for one bowl of food.' If you look at the record of events in the Bible, Abel was the vessel to be used Cain is the vessel that was not used, Abraham was the vessel that was used, Lot was the vessel that was not used, Jacob was the vessel that was used, and Esau was the vessel that was not used, and Jonah was the vessel that was almost never used, but he repented and was used. And King Saul is a man who was used well, but eventually fell and became an unused vessel. It is said that there are people who are separated from being used and not used at all, and there are others who come and go. Then who is the precious, clean, and large bowl?
First, he is a repentant person. Just as any vessel needs to be clean, it is a basic requirement for a person to repent. Because God does not use great and great people, but clean people who repent.
The second good vessel is a person with a big heart to accept. accepting heart. This is not to say that this is unconditional. the right thing, the truth. Where in my life do I find the difference between an average person and a big person? I find it in an accepting heart. Comparing King Saul and King David, I realized that 'Saul is a thousand thousand, David is ten thousand. King Saul should have accepted it. Saul is a thousand thousand, David ten thousand ten thousand. At that time, King Saul said yes, I am a thousand thousand and David ten thousand. So, do you know what happens after a few years? David is ten thousand, and Saul is one hundred thousand and one hundred thousand. But they did not accept it.' That's a bowl of tea.
The third good bowl, a big bowl, is a big bowl for those who work hard. Look at the great man in the Bible. No one has just been All of them are the result of hard work, the result of refinement, and the result of hard work. Moses was beaten in the wilderness for 40 years, Joseph was beaten and beaten in prison for 13 years as a slave, David chased here and there for 10 years and beat him. Just keep winning. There my bowls will be made.
There are problems of the times that our church is facing. what is that It's not just about becoming a big church. It's not just about becoming a mega church after a big church. It's not about size, it's about content. I know that we should think and pray together for that. To do that, each person in this Jungmun Church must become a large vessel, a good vessel, a clean vessel, and a vessel to be used. Wouldn't this Jungmun Church become a good church when each one of you becomes such a good vessel? I bless you in the name of the Lord. let's pray
