Subject: Ruth's filial piety
Verse: Ruth 1:15-18
During the period of the Judges, there was a great famine in Judea. Elimelech took his wife, Naomi, and their two sons, Marlon and Kiron, and went to Moab in a foreign land. Naomi married her two sons to a foreign woman and lived happily ever after, but her husband and her two sons died suddenly, and she returned to her hometown of Bethlehem after 10 years. He was greatly blessed by showing filial piety with one determination, and thus became an example of filial piety.
In the family month, I pray that you will become a family of saints who are blessed by God by making your living parents happy by learning the filial piety of Ruth.
1. It was filial piety that transcended the environment.
1) What is wrong filial piety?
(1) To practice conditional filial piety.
(2) There are many cases of filial piety when the circumstances are good and quitting when it is difficult.
2) What is true filial piety?
(1) It is not governed by the environment.
(2) It comes from the heart.
(3) Filial piety does not consist in wealth in life.
2. Hyosung of blood relations.
1) Brotherhood of today's age?
(1) Rather, there are many brothers who are inferior to others.
2) Biblical brotherhood?
(1) It is good and beautiful for brothers to live together in unity (Psalm 133:1).
(2) To please parents by knowing, understanding, and harmonizing each other.
3. It is a confession of religious filial piety.
1) Ruth's Confession of Faith
(1) Ruth was originally a Moabite woman and a foreigner. There were also traditionally worshiped gods, but after abandoning them all, she decided to serve the God her mother-in-law believed in and confessed, "Your God is my God."
2) How many religious disobedients are there?
4. It was Hyosung who risked his life.
1) Ruth is not a filial piety with words alone, but a filial piety who did her best (Ruth 2:2).
2) He honored him well (Ruth 2:18).
(1) Honoring your parents is something you can do while you are alive, but you cannot do it if you want to after you die.
