Title: Conquest and Distribution

Main text: (Deuteronomy 3:12-22)

Hymns: 347. In the new land that you allow

Date: March 9, 2011 (Wednesday) 5 am

Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Small Worship Room

If you ask people to name the happiest and most memorable thing they've ever done in their life, they'll be referring to when I bought my house. A strong home for the family brings joy to everyone. Finally, the people of Israel will be able to repay the hardship they have suffered so far. It is because they have begun to receive the land where they will live.

1. The tribe to whom the land was distributed (v. 12)

The Israelites took the land of Sihon king of Heshbon and the land of Og king of Bashan, which God gave them, and stayed there until they entered the land of Canaan. God gave the land to Reuben and the half tribe of Gad Manasseh. East of Jordan was not the land that God had promised the Israelites in the first place. It was the land obtained through the realization of God's justice. God gave it to Israel before they entered Canaan.

God has already given His kingdom to the saints. Heaven, the eternal Canaan into which we will enter, has already prepared a place for us. I hope that we hope and live in the spiritual Canaan that God has provided for us.

2. For the sake of the brethren's land (v. 18)

Moses commanded the two and a half tribes, who had received land in the east of the Jordan first, to participate in the war to conquer Canaan west of the Jordan for the other brother tribes who had not yet received the inheritance. He ordered all the tribes to return to their assigned land after obtaining the land. The two and a half tribes obeyed Moses. With the grace of God and the help of other tribes, they were able to first gain an inheritance and enjoy rest. Now they must help the other tribes gain inheritance and rest.

Likewise, the saints who first heard the gospel must work hard for their brothers and sisters who have not yet been saved. Those who are economically affluent by God's grace should also help the poor. We must not forget that the good things God has given us are not just for ourselves, but for our brothers and our neighbors.

3. Remember that God helps (verses 21-22)

Moses, who divided the land between the two and a half tribes, tells Joshua, who will succeed him and lead the Israelites to the land of Canaan. “Don’t be afraid, go out and fight with courage. God Himself will fight for Israel.” God fights against the forces that oppose Israel. As we live in the world, we can face many difficulties. But the difficulties we face are not insurmountable. Moreover, we do not need to fear because God is with us. We must respond boldly in faith without being swayed by any situation. Because God will fight for us and give us His power.

God's promise to give the land of Canaan is gradually being fulfilled. It was a vague promise to the people of Israel, but when we obey God, we can see the promise fulfilled. I hope that God's promises will come true by believing in the word of promise and moving forward.

<Prayer>

1. Help me to live a victorious life by obeying the word of promise every day!

2. May the anointing overflow in the Wednesday worship service (spiritual assembly) and the grace of intercession abounds!

3. May each family be healed and restored through the Word!
