Title Saints (1 Corinthians 1:1-3)
Contents
Second, we Christians are holy because we are those who have been cleansed by the blood of Christ. In the Old Testament times, all the holy things in the temple were made holy with the blood of animals sacrificed for sacrifice. And this foreshadows that we will be sanctified by the blood of Jesus in the New Testament age. Another reason we are called holy saints is because we have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins? Then I want you to believe clearly that the blood of Christ shed on the cross washed away all your sins and made you clean. Anyone who believes in the blood of Jesus on the cross has been cleansed without exception, and therefore is a holy person.
Ladies and gentlemen, you who believe in Jesus Christ are already holy saints, no matter where you are. Although we are lacking and have many faults, we are holy because God has set us apart and the blood of Christ has made us clean. However, God has a purpose in distinguishing us as saints in this way. It is to make us holy as God is holy (Ephesians 1:4; Leviticus 11:45). We Christians are already holy. However, this can be called identity holiness. And now we must become holy men worthy of such a glorious title, not only in our standing, but also in our inner man and character. This is called sanctification, but this is the desire of God who called us to be holy.
Then what will we become to be holy? 'Holy' can be seen as a generic term for the nature of God. Therefore, to be holy just as God is holy means that we must imitate God. We should strive to become people who resemble the character of God. No matter how much we look at ourselves, there is no holy place at all, and we are thankful for God's grace to call us holy, who can never be called saints. I believe you will do it.
Dear saints,
Sincere thanks to God for calling you holy. And in response to God's gracious call, I pray in the name of Jesus that all the saints who imitate God's holiness every day will become holy, not only in terms of status, but also in our personality and life, in the name of Jesus.
