Title Saints! You must be holy.

Text: John 17:16-19
God is holy. Holiness is an attribute of God. Therefore, God is not defiled at all. Not only that, dirt cannot come near (Revelation 21:8). Even when God gives grace, He gives it to those who long for holiness and gives it to holy saints. Therefore, 1 Corinthians 3:14 says, “Be holy, for the temple of God is holy.” He also said in 1 Peter 1:16, “Be holy because I am holy.” You said.
It is God's will that our believers should be holy.
1 Thessalonians 4:3 “This is the will of God, your holiness.”
Why do dirty thoughts enter us? Because our thoughts are not filled with holiness. Uncleanness This is the devil's work.
In the Bible, the word “holy” is used in God (John 17:11), in the Word of God (John 17:17), in God's temple (1 Corinthians 3:17), and in worship. (Romans 12:1), used by the Lord's servants and saints, as well as in scriptures and furnishings. Therefore, it should not be handled carelessly (Luke 1:70, Romans 6:22, 1 Pet 2:5, 9, 3:5, 2 Pet 3:2).
On the other hand, I have never used the word holy for the devil, the spirit of the antichrist, or a demon. Rather, it is said to be evil, defiled, alienating and deceiving.
There are three reasons why saints need to be holy.
First, if you want to live a spiritual life in this world and go to heaven to see the Lord, you must be holy. (Hebrews 12:13)
“Pursue holiness, without which no one will see the Lord”). No matter how much you pray, donate a lot, or give a lot of zeal, if you don't have holiness, you will be unrelated to God. No school or book in the world teaches the word holiness. However, the word holy ( γι τη hagiotes) is used countless times in the Bible, the Word of God.
Second, it is impossible to receive God's love without holiness.
The greatest secret to receiving God's love is holiness. Without this holiness, we are tempted, sick, cursed, and destroyed. In John 13:2, the devil put the idea of selling Jesus into Judas Iscariot's heart, and as a result, he became a traitor and a man who would have been better had he not been born into this world. An unclean spirit entered and began to work, resulting in destruction.
There are many religions in the world, but they are not holy religions. Buddhism does not teach the word holiness and there are things to be recorded with such a word, but their teaching is a religion that has nothing to do with holiness, mainly talking about the principle of living according to the proper way for people to live. Also, in the Kumgang Sutra, he denied God and said that Shakyam himself was not a god, but later Buddhists deified him and worshiped him as a god. Be holy, you cannot receive God's love without holiness.
Third, life cannot be preserved without holiness.
Holiness is life. Everyone wants to live and not die. However, there is no one who can transcend death because it is ordained by God to die once. All humans die once. But for the holy one, death doesn't matter. Look at Jesus. Because death could not hold Jesus in death, Jesus was resurrected and became the firstfruits, the first life, of those who slept. Holy believers who believe in our God will overcome the authority of death and rise again as Jesus did, and will be resurrected with a spiritual body. Please believe it.
People think that godliness is holy, but even unbelievers can be godly. Other religions also have piety. Such piety has no life. But in holiness there is life (Holy is life).
When describing God to the Israelites exodus from Egypt, what word did you use the most when referring to God? Holy. Holy God, holy God, there are countless. However, in the last 22 chapters of Revelation in the New Testament, it is said, “Only the holy will find life” (Revelation 22:11-14).
Holiness is an attribute and disposition of God. Therefore, without holiness, we cannot agree with him. How can the thoughts of a holy person and the thoughts of an unclean person be the same? How can the thoughts of those who have received the Holy Spirit and those who have not received the Holy Spirit be the same? How can the thoughts of those who believe in Jesus and those who do not believe in Jesus be the same?
Dear members of Shepherd Church,
As Hebrews 9:22 says, “We have been sown in our hearts (sprinkled with blood), realizing the evil of our conscience, and washing our bodies with pure water, let us come to God with a true heart and complete faith.” You can be holy by your merits. Even now, Jesus is speaking and praying for my holiness. John 17:17 “Holy Father, sanctify them with the truth, for your word is truth.” Let's confess together. I will be sanctified by the word of truth all my days. I will be sanctified by Jesus, the Word, throughout my life
You will be sanctified by the Holy Spirit who sent the name of Jesus. May the blessing of holiness be with all of us. Hallelujah, Amen.
