Title Samson's Victory/Judges 15:14-19
Entering the content:
Last week, looking at Samson's folly, we looked at the weaknesses and shortcomings of our lives, and we saw that those who were called by God should go forward with a heart in obedience to the Lord's call.
Today, let's take a look at God's amazing providence through Samson.
During the period of the Judges, when Samson became more prominent as a judge, the Philistines persecuted Samson's people, Israel, in order to capture him. In response, the Israelites, unable to withstand the persecution of their adversary, seized Samson and dragged him to a place called 'Lehi' in order to hand him over to the Philistines. When the Philistines saw this, they cheered and cheered. But the joy was short-lived, and Samson immediately broke the chains and killed a thousand Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey. I hope you can learn valuable spiritual lessons through this.
1. The impossible becomes possible when the power of the Holy Spirit comes upon us.
Samson was now brought before the Philistines, bound with two new cords instead of the old one. Perhaps the Philistines saw Samson so bound and thought that he had completely fallen into their hands. And when they saw Samson bound triumphantly, they cheered with joy and amazement. But it was only for a short time, and the power of the Lord came upon Samson. Because of the work of the Holy Spirit, the new rope that bound Samson was torn very easily. This teaches us that any human effort that goes against God's will will never succeed, and that when God's Holy Spirit comes upon us, even impossible events become possible. Therefore, no matter how strong the power of evil that surrounds the saints, to those who have the power of the Holy Spirit, it will be consumed like a string of fire. The power of the Holy Spirit has such amazing power. do you believe No matter how great and amazing the power of the world is, it cannot be moved by the power of the Holy Spirit.
2. God picks up the little things and uses them big.
This is recorded in verse 15 of the text. "When Samson saw the new jawbone of the donkey, he stretched out his hand and took it and killed a thousand men with it." Indeed, it was of no value as a weapon. But, nevertheless, why was Samson able to use this little tool to become a formidable weapon capable of killing a thousand people? This refers to the use of the donkey jawbone as an instrument of God. In this way, let us remember that God is the One who can lift up the smallest things and lift the weakest things to bring about a work that puts the strongest to shame. (1 Corinthians 1:28) Therefore, there is no reason to be disloyal to God because of our shortcomings and incompetence. Full trust in God is all that is required of us.
3. God sustains His ministers to the end.
As we tie...
Today, we looked at Samson's God holding him up and protecting him with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Through today's Word, we learned that with the Holy Spirit, any difficulty or impossible becomes possible. Also, I came to know that God is a picker of small things. I have to believe that God is preparing a refuge and a good way for me even in times of trouble and tribulation.
But the Lord is with him and gives him power as he runs to the Lord.
Amen-
