Title Sanctification of New Being
Text/ 1 Timothy 4:7-9
1. Introduction
<New Being> is about hearing the gospel, accepting Jesus as your Savior, realizing that your life was wrong (repentance), being baptized in the name of Jesus, receiving the grace of forgiveness, receiving the Holy Spirit as a gift and living a changed life. will be This is New Being, Justification, and Justification.
If you are transformed by the gospel and your consciousness is renewed and you discern the good will of God (Romans 12:2), will you become a new being? If your consciousness changes, your way of looking at life changes, and inner realization occurs, does that make you a new being?
2. Sanctification of the New Being
P. Tillich said, <The message of christianity is not christianity, but a new reality>. In other words, the new existence does not consist in converting to Christianity or starting to attend a church, but in a completely new change in the existence of one's life. A new existence requires not only a change of thinking, but also a change of behavior.
<Knowing and living as you know> are two completely different things. That is the dilemma of all of us Christians. Who is a Christian who doesn't know how to live is God's will? Knowing but not living is the real reality of every Christian's life.
A new existence is not only about listening to and knowing the words of Jesus Christ, but also about living according to those words. Isn't that the very word that says, "Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father who is in heaven Matthew 7:21"?
Just because a person who has lived a sinful life has changed his or her heart, that sinful life cannot be completely cleansed overnight. O wretched man I am. What are the words of the Apostle Paul who exclaimed, “I myself serve the law of God with my heart and the law of sin with the flesh? <Knowing and Living> lamented the tragedy of a completely different self-existence.
3. What is the content of <devotional practice> for new existence?
first. It's an exercise in letting go. He told them to put off the old being and put on the new being. Look inside yourself. And write down all the old human things you know well: bad habits, bad temperament, bad tone, bad thoughts, and bad psychological currents. This time, write down what you received grace from the Word, that is, the direction you are going. Put these two on the wall.
And throw it away every day, and every day go where I am going (see Classical Art No. 94: 13 Virtues of Benjamin Franklin)
second. It is the practice of living actively. Ask, seek, knock, and it will be given to you, and it will be opened to you (Matthew 7:7). Let it be according to your faith (Matthew 8:13). Believe that you have received it (Mark 11:24).
To live actively means to live with a dream. that <Vision> exists. If it is lost, it is found; if it is not, it is created. To live actively means to live by faith. <The one who said you can do it, he said, ‘Do not doubt my strength, Lord God,’ and he told me to walk on the water!> It means living with praise.
Therefore, the apostle Paul said that having a contented heart is a great benefit to godliness (1 Timothy 6:6).
