“To the angel of the church in Sardis, one who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars said, “I know your works, you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. I have not found the perfect deed. Therefore, remember how you received and how you heard it, and keep it and repent. If you do not awaken, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you. You have some men, and you will walk with me in white robes, for they are worthy, and the one who overcomes will be clothed in white, and I will not blot out his name in the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels. He who has, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

“Awake, and establish what is left to die; for I have not found the perfection of your deeds before my God. Therefore, remember how you received and how you heard them, and keep them and repent. “I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour it will come upon you.”

“But there are you in Sardis who have not defiled their garments, and you will walk with me in white robes, for they are worthy” (verse 4).

□ The Lord's Promise
Verse 5, “The one who overcomes will be clothed in white robes, and I will not blot out his name from the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.”
The 'one who overcomes' is one who repents after thinking about how he received it and how he heard it.
'You will wear white clothes' You will wear and wear the atonement of Jesus' life and death so that you can live in the atonement of Jesus' life and death.
'His name must not be blotted out of the book of life': 'His name' is not the name of spirit, body, or mind, but the name of an action. There are two components of action: vigor and function.
