Introduction
This morning, I would like to share grace by talking about Satan (the devil), who tempted Adam and Eve, the ancestors of mankind, to sin and made all mankind sinners.
Main subject
1. Satan's name
There are 40 different names for Satan.
Today, I will name just a few.
1) Satan (used 52 times in the Bible)
The name is taken from the Hebrew word Satan, which means “enemy” or “disrupter.”
Satan has become an enemy of God himself, and he opposes the believers and hinders them from establishing the kingdom of God.
In Zechariah 3:1, the prophet Zechariah saw in a vision that Joshua was standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan was standing at his right hand to oppose Joshua.
2) The devil (used 35 times in the Bible)
Diabolos is the Greek word for “slanderers” and “book grabbers” to find and slander God, Jesus, and believers.
In Job 1:11 and 2:4-5, Satan slandered and slandered God against Job.
It was.
3) Snake, old snake, big dragon.
In Genesis 3:1-4, the serpent tempted Eve and made her fall. This serpent signifies Satan. In Revelation 12:9, the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent, also called the devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world. And he grew up and was cast out to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
4) Beelzebel, the king of demons
The word Beelzebel is a title given to a god in the Philistine nation, and this name was introduced into Judaism and was used as a nickname for Satan.
In Matthew 12:24, Jesus healed the blind and the mute who were possessed by demons with his power, but the Pharisees slandered that Jesus cast them out by the power of Beelzebel, the king of demons.
5) Those who hold power in the air
A person who resides and functions in the limited Earth's atmosphere.
Ephesians 2:2 says, “In those days ye walked in them, following the customs of this world, and following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience.”
Besides these, the king of this world (John 12:31, 16:11), the god of this age (2 Corinthians 4:4), the evil one (John 17:15, 1 John 5:18), the destroyer (Revelation 9:11) , the accuser (Rev 12:10), and the deceiver (Rev 12:9, 20:3).
2. The origin of Satan
1) Originally a group angel
2) I was cast out while rebelling against God
According to Isaiah 14:12-15,
Verse 12: “How are you, Keimyungseong (Lucifer), son of the morning, and how have you fallen from heaven, you who overthrew the nations, how are you cut down to the ground?”
Verse 13 - “You shall say in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, and above the stars of God I will exalt my throne, and I will sit on the mountain of the assembly at the North Pole.”
Verse 14 - “I will ascend on the highest cloud and be like the Most High.”
Verse 15 - “But now you will plunge yourself into Hades, the bottom of the pit.”
According to Ezekiel 28:12-19,
Verse 12 - “Son of man, wrote a lamentation for the king of Tire and said to him, Thus saith the Sovereign LORD, You were a perfect seal, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty
Verse 13: “Once upon a time you were in Eden, the garden of God, adorned with precious stones of every kind: champagne, chalcedony, topaz, onyx, spear, sapphire, sapphire, sapphire, carnelian, and gold. The lyre was prepared.”
Verse 14: “You are the anointed covering cherub, I set you up, and you were in the holy mountain of God, to and fro, to and from among the ore.”
Verse 15 - “From the day you were created you were perfect in all your ways, and at last iniquity was revealed.”
As recorded above, the devil is a fallen archangel who has been cast out and forsaken by God.
C.F. Dickerson quoted Revelation 12:4 saying that demons are angels who were cast out and abandoned by God after following Archangel Lucifer. The number of demons may be one third of the angels.
Revelation 12:4 says, “And its tail drew a third of the stars in the sky and threw it to the earth.
3. What Satan does
1) kill
John 8:44 He said, “He was a murderer from the beginning,” which means that Cain murdered Abel, but it was the devil who led Cain to kill Abel (Genesis 4:)
Even now, the devil uses people as tools to manipulate them to kill millions of people.
Even now, Satan is manipulating many people to become murderers.
Even suicide is controlled by the devil.
2) They lie.
John 8:44 “For he is a liar and the father of lies.”
In Genesis 2:17, God said that if you eat the fruit of the forbidden fruit, you will surely die, but the serpent (Satan) lied to Eve and made her eat the forbidden fruit, thereby committing the sin of disobeying God.
In Genesis 3:4-5, “The serpent (Satan) said to the woman (Eve), “You will never die; God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” and lied.
Eve and Adam, who were deceived by Satan and ate of the forbidden fruit, died according to God's word.
Even now, Satan is manipulating people to lie.
3) Makes you betray.
In John 13:2, it is said, “The devil had already put in the heart of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon to sell Jesus.”
Judas sold Jesus to a member of the council for 30 pieces of silver because he was under the control of the devil.
Even now, Satan is working to manipulate people into betrayal.
4) Test people and make them fall.
(1) In Job 1-2, Satan tested Job.
(2) In Matthew 4, the devil tempted Jesus three times.
(3) In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve also fell under the temptation of the devil and made all mankind become sinners.
Even now, the devil is trying to tempt us every moment and knock us down.
1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober and watchful, your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
5) They are trying to intercept the worship that God will accept.
In Matthew 4:8-9, the devil showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and tempted him to give him everything if he fell down and worshiped me.
But instead of worshiping the devil, Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 6:13, “Go away, Satan, for it is written, Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.” 1 Corinthians 10:20 says, “For the sacrifices of the Gentiles are made to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.”
Even now, the devil goes to each family and intercepts the ancestral rites on the day of the sacrament.
6) It hinders the revival of the church.
(1) It hinders revival through false teachers (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)
Satan's officials came into the Corinthian church disguised as angels of light and prevented the revival.
(2) It divides the church (1 Corinthians 1:10-13)
In the Corinthian church, the church was divided into four sects: Pauline, Cebanese, Apollos, and Christine. This is what the devil did.
(3) Persecution.
In Acts 8:1, it says, “On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all but the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.”
Paul was persecuted countless times during his missionary work, and he was stoned several times to faint.

(4) It hinders the work of God.
In Matthew 16:21-22, when Jesus went up to Jerusalem and taught the members of the council that they must suffer and be killed and rise again on the third day, Peter held on to Jesus and said, “Lord, don’t do it.”
In Matthew 16:23, Jesus rebuked Peter.
“Get behind me, Satan; you are a stumbling block to me, for you do not think about the things of God, but the things of men.”
It was Satan who moved Peter, not Satan.
In 1 Thessalonians 2:18, Paul said that he was going to Thessalonica to take care of the church, but twice when Satan stopped him.
7) It causes them to commit various sins.
In 1 John 3:8, it says, “He who sins is of the devil, and the devil sins from the beginning.”
1 John 3:9 says, “Whoever is born of God does not sin, because the seed of God abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God.”
4. Weapons to defeat Satan
1) The power that Jesus gives
In Matthew 10:1, it says, “Jesus called the twelve disciples and gave them power to cast out unclean spirits and to heal all diseases and infirmities.”
Mark 16:17-18 says, “And these signs shall follow those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons, they will speak new tongues, they will pick up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; put on it, and you will recover.”
2) The gift of power
In 1 Corinthians 12:10, it is said, “To some the works of miracles”.
The gift of works of power is the gift of conquering the devil.
3) Word
In Matthew 4:1-10, the devil tempted Jesus three times, but Jesus overcame him with Deuteronomy 8:3, 6:16, and 6:13 in the Old Testament.
4) In the name of Jesus
In Mark 9:25, when Jesus commanded the unclean spirit, “You dumb and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of the child and do not enter again.” The demon left.
Even now, believers can cast out demons and overcome the devil in the name of Jesus, whether they receive power or gifts from Jesus or are armed with the word.
