Title Satan's Origin (Isaiah 14:12-15)
Contents In the Bible, the enemy of God is called in various ways. In John 8:44, it is said, “He is a liar and the father of lies”, in John 14:30 “the King of this world”, in 2 Corinthians 4:4 “the god of this world”, in Ephesians 2:2 “of the air. Follow the one who has authority, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience” 1 Peter 5:8 “your adversary the devil” and Revelation 20:2 “who seized the dragon, the old serpent, the devil, and Satan”. As for Satan, who is called by so many names, at least two passages in the text reveal the original character and reveal the origin of him as the fallen from heaven.
1. The Origin of Satan
(1) Let's look at Ezekiel 28:12-19 This speaks of the king of Tire, first as a historical figure, and second as the older brother of the devil before he was expelled from God's presence. The following verse should be noted. Verse 14, “You were anointed… cherubim”, Verse 12, “You were full of wisdom, and you were utterly beautiful” in verse 15, “You were perfect in all your ways from the day you were created…” But at last In verse 17, “You were proud of your beauty… I threw you to the ground.” The devil was originally a creature endowed with beauty, wisdom, and perfection, but his pride led him to drop from his initial position. Now, as the king or god of this world, he is busily opposing God's plan.
(2) Let's look at the text Isaiah 14:12-15. It records the fall of Lucifer “the son of the morning commandment.” In verses 13-14, “I will ascend into heaven, and I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit on the mountain of the Arctic assembly; I will ascend on the highest clouds, and I will be likened to the Most High.” You should pay attention to the word “lira”. They became arrogant and assert their will, disobeying God, and were punished for their rebellion. “Kyemyungseong, son of the morning, how did you fall from heaven, and how you were cut down to the ground, you who overthrew the nations” was repeated in the following words of the Lord: “I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven.” said Satan's fall is also related to the fall of angels recorded in 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 6, and one of the original words was pride (1 Timothy 3:6, Ezekiel 28:15-17). You can tell if it's a sin.
3. The work of Satan (Genesis 3:15) God allowed Satan to do many terrible things for a while. Satan bruised the heel of the woman's offspring (Genesis 3:15). It is their job for Satan and his allies to directly oppose any truth, goodness, or anything that has any relation to it.
(1) Satan despises the Word of God and prevents it from dwelling in people's hearts forever. Mark 4:15 says, “These are these that the word was sown by the wayside, that when they heard the word, Satan immediately came and took away the word that had been sown in them.”
(2) Satan makes men blind so that they cannot see Christ as their Savior. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 “If our gospel is hidden, it is hidden from them that are perishing, in which the god of this world blinds the minds of those who do not believe, so that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ cannot shine through.” Said.
(3) Satan is a “tester” who tests the servants of the Lord and believers. Paul calls Satan “the tempter” (1 Thessalonians 3:5). There is nothing more pleasing to Satan than to tempt Christ's servants into temptation. Just as Satan tempted the Lord, so he tempts believers. Satan has the scope of temptation (1 Corinthians 7:5). And there are tricks (2 Corinthians 2:11). Children of God must not be ignorant of this.
(4) Satan afflicts and afflicts followers of Christ in countless ways. Satan discourages Christians and prevents them from working as Christians. Paul writes to the Thessalonian church: 1 Thessalonians 2:18 says, “Therefore, I, Paul, wanted to come to you once and twice, but Satan stopped us.” Satan is always on standby. He likes to cause trouble. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8).
(5) Satan sometimes infiltrates the human heart and uses it as his agent in order to carry out his evil plans. Judas' betrayal of Christ is the result of Satan's work in his heart. In John 13:27 it is written, “He gave Judah, and immediately after receiving the piece, Satan entered into it. As recorded in the Gospels, casting out the devil was necessary because the devil resides in the human heart (Matthew 12:27-28).
