Title Seize the opportunity / Matthew 8:5-13
Content * Seize the opportunity *
Matthew 8:5-13
God created human beings in space and time. God is sending opportunities when you are in this space and this time. Therefore, we humans can meet times of failure and times of opportunity in the world.
Today, at this time, I would like to convey the message of seizing the opportunity God gives us.
I want to tell you what the opportunities God gives you and what you must do to seize them.
1. The Word is an opportunity given by God
The greatest opportunity for us humans is the Word from God.
John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Man must live by the grace of God and live by the word of God.
The Word of God is the wisdom and opportunity to help us humans realize how to be happy.
God gave us the Word to give us the best opportunity.
* In a world where the whole earth was corrupted, the word of God came to Noah, so how could there be any more important opportunity like this? (Genesis 6:13-14).
Noah held on to those words and built an ark, using a spiritual opportunity to save himself and his family. As a result of numerous efforts that Noah obeyed and built the ark, he made it an opportunity only given to himself and his family when mankind lost the opportunity and perished under the curse.
* The Word is truly a great opportunity for us humans.
Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making the fool wise.
Psalm 19:8 The precepts of the LORD are upright and rejoice in the heart; the commandments of the LORD are pure and open the eyes
107:20 He sends his word, heals them, and delivers them from their plight.
John 5:39 You search the scriptures, thinking that you have eternal life in them, but this scripture is the testimony of me.
Hebrews 4:12-13 The word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and discerns the thoughts and intentions of the heart; There is nothing but all things are revealed naked before the eyes of those who have dealings with us.
John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
Psalm 119:130 You open the word of the Lord to enlighten the fool and give understanding.
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
2 Timothy 3:15-17 And from your youth you have known the Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed for teaching, reproof, correction and righteousness. It is profitable for education, that the man of God may be perfected for every good work.
This opportunity, the Word, comes to us humans.
* Words to Isaiah (Isaiah 6:1-13)
* Words to Ezekiel (Ezekiel 1:1-28)
* Words to Daniel (Daniel 7:1-8:27)
* The dream that came to Joseph (Matthew 1:20 2:12)
The coming of the Word to them was an opportunity.
▶ We can seize opportunities that come through the Word by believing and obeying.
How can I seize the opportunity that comes from the Word? If we receive the word as Amen and obey it, we will be able to grasp it.
* The opportunity came to Abraham.
First, there was a command to leave the mainland, relatives, and father's house and go to the land that God will show (Genesis 12:1).
Ur of the Chaldeans, where Abraham lived, was a city of idols and a city of curses.
Abraham obeyed the golden opportunity God gave him and turned it into an opportunity for himself and for his descendants.
Second, the command to offer the only son Isaac that God had given came as a sacrifice, so Abraham obeyed and drew his sword on his only son Isaac without hesitation (Genesis 22:9-10).
* Jacob, Moses, Joshua, and Elijah also received the opportunity to receive the word by obeying it. They never missed the opportunity they were given.
Believing and obeying the Word is the way to turn the Word into an opportunity. The Bible teaches this lesson:
James 1:21-23 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and excess of evil, receive with meekness the sown way, which is able to save your souls. Be doers of the way, and do not hearers only and deceive yourselves. If he hears and does not act, he is like a man who sees his own face in a mirror.
Matthew 13:18-19 Therefore, listen to the parable of the sower. When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and takes away what is sown in his heart, that is, the one sown by the wayside.
Hebrews 4:2 We, like them, have also had the gospel preached, but the words they heard did not benefit them, because those who hear did not unite their faith
Luke 11:28 Jesus said to them, “Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.”
Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Joshua 1:8 Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, but meditate on it day and night, and observe all that is written in it, so that you may make your way prosperous.
2. Jesus Christ is a God-given opportunity.
The opportunity God has given is Jesus Christ, the Word who became flesh.
John 1:9-13 There was the true light, the light that came into the world and gave to every man, who was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world did not know him; he came to his own land, and his people did not receive him, but did receive him. To those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, to those who were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Jesus is an opportunity for us humans.
Jesus Christ came to this earth and performed unlimited miracles with his almighty and absolute power.
He raised the dead, cleansed the lepers, raised the lame, gave the dumb to speak, the blind to see, the deaf to hear, and performed many miracles that cast out demons. that owned it.
* So was Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52),
* So were the lepers (Matthew 8:1-4),
* So did the centurion (Matthew 8:5-13),
* So was the Syrophonic woman (Mark 7:24-30),
* It was the same with the woman who had suffered from bleeding for 12 years (Matthew 9:20-22).
* The foolish rich young man missed the opportunity of Jesus (Matthew 19:16-22)
* Zacchaeus was a man who seized the opportunity of Jesus.
Jesus Christ is an opportunity for those who are entangled in physical and spiritual impossibility yesterday, today, and at any time (Hebrews 13:8).
Jesus does not disappoint those who take advantage of him.
The reason Jesus Christ suffered was to give mankind a chance both physically and spiritually (Isaiah 53:5-6).
John 1:17 The law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
John 3:16-17 God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but through him the world was saved. so that you may receive
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.
Matthew 8:17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah, saying that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.
1 Peter 2:24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness. By His wounds you were healed.
Jesus Christ says, “Forgive me your sins in His name, pray, and whatever you do, do it in the name of Jesus” means that He will give it to those who ask for an opportunity in Jesus Christ Himself.
They were told to repent, to pray, to be healed, and to possess a spiritual opportunity.
▶ The opportunity to come to Jesus is to be seized with faith.
Jesus gives opportunities to those who believe and receive them.
John 1:12 To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you and your household will be saved.
John 20:31 But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
1 John 5:13 I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
Acts 10:43 All the prophets testify about him, saying that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.
Mark 16:17-18 These signs will follow those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. he said
Acts 3:16 By believing in his name, his name has made this man whom you have seen and known, and the faith that is through Jesus has thus completely healed you in the sight of all of you.
We must not forget that the opportunities we are given are only when we are in this world.
When you are in this space and this time, do not forget that God has given you the Word and Jesus Christ as an opportunity.
While you are on this earth, listen to God's word and obey it, seize the opportunity, and believe in and receive Jesus Christ as an opportunity of true happiness.
