Title: Service 2 - To God
Contents :
Continuing from last time, let's look at service to God first as the second "service" today.
Text Content - The Lord, who was weary, came to Bethany with his disciples and was invited to Simon's house, where he had been healed of leprosy in the past. Of course, it is not clear who this Simon is. There must have been many rich and healthy people there, but the Lord stayed at Simon's house.
The Lord, the church, and the servants of God are served by the favored ones and the favored families.
There, while they were eating, Mary brought an alabaster jar of perfumed oil and poured it all over Jesus' head and feet, and the smell of incense resonated throughout the house. In fact, according to Jewish ceremonies, when a precious guest came, they washed their feet and poured perfume on them to show their honor and welcome. However, according to other Bibles, Simon did not actually bring water to wash Jesus' feet.
The disciples complained that they had wasted expensive perfume. I even got angry, saying, 'What the hell did you do with your thoughts and heart?' However, the Lord determined that the woman's service was in preparation for Jesus' burial, and where the gospel was preached, the woman's deeds should also be preached to commemorate this event.
1. You must become a person of faith who wastes money on God.
There are many people in the world who waste their energy in vain, vain time, vain love, vain money, and vain life. There are many people who are stingy with God and wasteful in the world. There are many people who are stingy with their wives and children, and waste their money on bad things.
Who owns everything and for whom do you live?
Or, we must not become like Judas Iscariot who serve God while not serving themselves and die because they waste the time they spend on God's church or God's work.
2. Only those who realize the atonement of Jesus Christ can waste it on God.
*In verse 12, this woman's waste is because she realized the grace of Jesus' ransom.
* This woman's waste is because she was loved by Jesus.
We can only waste when we realize the grace of God. Grace healed me from a dirty and abandoned life into a pure woman! Grace that changed from the people of hell to the people of heaven!!
3. A waste of serving God is a service that is celebrated forever.
People pour out where they can be commemorated for a long time. Where else can it be celebrated to God longer and forever? Those who build monuments for themselves will perish.
