Sing hope (Acts 2:14-27)

Introduction: Hallelujah!!!! Finally, the last Sunday of June has arrived. Come to think of it, the year 2003, which started in the midst of difficult and difficult times, has also passed half a year. I thank God for protecting our family, church, and country in the midst of difficult circumstances. We have been living in the midst of political turmoil since the beginning of the year and fear of a second economic turmoil. In addition, the new year was greeted in the midst of instability in society and deepening regional sentiment and division among the people. And now, six months later, looking around us, nothing has improved.

Everything has obviously gotten harder. The economic slowdown is also becoming visible.

At the beginning of the year, the economic growth rate was set at 5% or higher, but recently it has been revised to the 2.9% level. There are even predictions that hollowing out the economy and hollowing out industries will happen soon.

Politically, the struggle for power in the National Assembly is intensifying day by day, and the People's Livelihood Act is behind the scenes, and it is a new party. There is not.

Socially, various violent crimes such as kidnapping, violence, robbery, and murder are rampant in broad daylight, and some say that parents with children are afraid to send their children out.

Moreover, we have been living under the threat of war for 58 years, with a nation divided and confronted by the north and the south. Recently, the North Korean Communist Party has explicitly threatened war, and foreign countries are predicting that war will soon occur in South Korea. If we could sum up our reality in one word, it could be said that it is an uncertain era.

Dear saints, Today, all the saints who are moving forward with hope toward Almighty God!!

All of our circumstances, however, are clear

Almighty God

The God who loves us very much is still with us. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that you will become all the saints of possibility, hearing God's voice, gaining strength, overcoming all things, and living in hope and victorious days to come through the word given on this day that God has decided to bless.

1. Text: If you look at the text God is giving us today, Jesus was crucified, suffered, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day, gathered his disciples back in Jerusalem, and asked us to pray at all in Mark's upper room. It's time you did.

The situation at that time was indeed a situation of crisis for the Christians of the early church. Although Jesus was crucified, died and rose from the dead, there are few people who believe. The proof of that is the fact that when Jesus was alive, all the believers who followed me like a cloud dispersed, and there were only about 120 remaining saints. Not only that, but those who oppose it are even more vicious, roaring and running like a roaring lion to annihilate Christianity altogether.

At that time, in such a situation, about 120 apostles and saints, such as those who barely survived, believed in the risen Lord and gathered in Mark's upper room, risking their lives to pray. On the tenth day after they started praying, the fiery Holy Spirit came down. A situation of being filled with the Holy Spirit happened to Mundo who prayed. In other words, the phenomenon of them becoming completely captivated by the Spirit of God has occurred.

The content of today's text is the gospel message that the apostles filled with the Holy Spirit gather around Mark's upper room and preach to those who are amazed when they see them praying and speaking in tongues.

2. Reason for singing hope: The core of the gospel of this text is David's confession in verse 25 and below.

"David said of him, "I have always seen the Lord before me; he is at my right hand, so that I may not be moved." 27) For you will not leave my soul in Hades, nor will Your Holy One suffer corruption." Hallelujah!!

David was a man who overcame many hurdles of death. However, he was angry that he had seen the Lord Almighty God, who was in front of him and helped him with his power, so that he would not be shaken under any circumstances.

Look at Psalm 18:1-3

? LORD, my strength, I love you.

(2) The LORD is my rock;

you are my fortress

You are the one who rescues me

you are my God

You are my rock of refuge

you are my shield

You are the horn of my salvation

You are my fortress

(3) I will call on the Lord, who is praiseworthy, and I will be saved from my enemies.??

David confesses that the Almighty God, God Almighty, is in front of him, and I do not care what the circumstances or the enemy may come, I sing and live in hope.

That's right. If Almighty God is before me, who can be against us? If Almighty God is before me, what kind of enemy can stand in our way? Even now, I pray that you believe that our Lord, who overcomes the power of death and lives and works, is with us.

Dear saints,

Please confess that we are not beings that are driven to death by the raging waves of the world. Please believe that we are the children of the Lord, endowed with the life force that rises against the waves of the world. We pray that you believe that we are not beings who are influenced by the circumstances of the world, but that we are capable of conquering and changing the world with the full support of the Lord.

3. Receive the Holy Spirit: Look!! The reason that they, who were despairing, groaning, and trembling in front of the threat of death coming before their enemies, were able to stand boldly like this is because they believed and obeyed the promise of Almighty God and received the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18 and below, "Do not get drunk with wine, for this is debauchery, but be filled with the Holy Spirit, the Lord has commanded."

In Romans 15:13 and below, he promises, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in faith, so that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit."

Also, in Matthew 28:20, He promised, "Teach them to obey all that I have commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world." When you receive the Holy Spirit, power comes to you. When you receive the Holy Spirit, He gives you the authority to preach the gospel to the world, gives you materials, and gives you the circumstances and environment to work.

What is clear is that the problem is not that our situation or reality is difficult or difficult, but that we turn away from the Word of God and

disobeying

not receiving the Holy Spirit

Because we live in the flesh, the world is difficult and difficult.

Dear brothers and sisters, according to the Word, we risk our lives and

The disciples who were filled with the Holy Spirit overcame the world that challenged them strongly.

I saved myself.

saved the family.

He saved the country and the people.

Go ahead and change the world.

turned the world upside down.

conquered the world.

He went ahead and saved the world. Hallelujah!!

4. Conclusion: Dear Saints!! We must not be like Israel in Kadesh-Barnea, looking at the enemy with negative and unbelieving eyes and fearing it.

I pray that you will stand on the side of Almighty God.

I pray that you will become saints who only look to Almighty God.

Almighty God, I pray that you will become believers who believe that He is with us. And I pray in the name of the Lord that we can open our spiritual eyes and sing of hope while looking at the living and working God.
