John 6:5 13
Today is Children's Day. I pray that all parents who raise their children will be filled with the grace of the Lord so that they can raise children of faith. The word given to us at this time is a familiar word known as the miracle of Oh Byung-Eye. In these words, we see the miracle of the Lord, which was accomplished through a small but precious devotion. The Lord did a miracle by receiving the complete devotion of a child, blessing the small but all-giving devotion, and sharing it. Let's think together about the beliefs that made this little child's devotion possible during this time.
First, this child was poor, but he lived by faith. Although this child was very poor, you can see that he had prepared food to meet Jesus. It can be seen that he did not come to see him once out of curiosity, but deliberately and deliberately came to meet Jesus for a long time. Look at this child who came out with five barley loaves and two fish. Although it had been a long time since Jesus healed and taught the Word, he was still with him in the field of the Lord's work. As the psalmist confesses, “A day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere; it is better to be a gatekeeper to my God than to dwell in the tents of the wicked” (Psalm 84:10). it was I hope you can experience this joy.
Second and more important is the dedication of this child. Everyone must have been hungry in the same situation, but the devotion of this child who willingly gave up for Jesus is outstanding. The child did not think that this little food she offered would be a miracle resource. The only thing Jesus did was to give because he was happy that he could give even the smallest things when he needed them. The Lord does not tell us to give in anticipation because it will work miracles for us. However, in a certain situation, giving what I can give is faith. Faith is knowing how to respond and what I can respond to in my relationship with God and responding to it.
Third, another important fact to remember here is the mother's concern for this child's faith. Although she was poor and could not prepare good food like others, this mother prepared the best she could in the circumstances and gave it to this child. Even though I had nothing to prepare for myself, my mother's love, who willingly prepared for my children's faith, gave me the opportunity to create this miracle today. It is not empty words that behind all great men were great mothers of faith. Today, our mothers are very passionate about their children's education. However, we Christians should not spare careful attention and consideration for the spiritual growth of our children.
The miracle of a child's devotion, this is not a story of a distant past. These are the words of the living Lord to me and you today. The Lord, who received a small devotion of faith and created an unimaginable miracle, is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I earnestly pray that the Lord will give us all the faith that makes this miracle possible.
