Title Song for the King/Psalm 20:9
Content A song for the king/Psalm 20:9
Key Verse: “Save us, O LORD, when we call, you will answer.”
Word: This psalm was a kind of national anthem in David's time, and the people sang for the king when the king went to war.
1. Five Songs for a King (Verses 1-5)
First, in the day of trouble, the Lord will answer you (verse 1), and may the Lord fulfill all your prayers (verse 5), and pray for the king's prayer to be answered. Second, we pray that the name of Jacob's God will exalt you (verse 1) and protect the king. Third, he asks to help you in the sanctuary and uphold you in Zion (verse 2), and to help the king on the battlefield. Fourth, I want to remember all your grain offerings and accept your burnt offerings (verse 3) and pray for the king's worship. Fifth, I pray that you will grant me success in the work of the king, granting it according to the wishes of your heart and fulfilling all your plans (plans).
2. The confidence of the people and the king (verses 5-6)
The people pray like this, and they are convinced that they will sing a song for your victory and raise a flag in the name of our God. In this conviction they swear allegiance to the king, declare war on the enemy, and declare that all this will belong to the king. They are convinced of the victory of the war. Verse 6 speaks of the confidence of the king going out to battle, now I know. He is confident that the Lord will save his anointed one. With the saving power of the right hand of Jehovah, I am confident that he will answer from holy heaven.
4. The people's sense of distinction (verses 7-8)
A few depend on chariots or horses, but we will boast in the name of the LORD our God (v. 7). Enemies fall down, but we stand up and we stand, and we distinguish ourselves as victors.
5. The people's prayer (verse 9)
They pray again now. O Lord, save the king. Answer us when we call.
6. Lessons
Through these words, we realize that those who are at the forefront of spiritual warfare should pray. That prayer will be answered by the sanctuary. Those who stand behind the spiritual warfare come to realize that they pray for those on the front lines. Whether you are standing in the back or in the front, you come to realize that you must have a sense of distinction and have the certainty of victory.
Prayer: God, we pray that the leaders of our church will be spiritually strong. We also pray that the heads of our families will be strong in the faith. May the Lord give you victory and protect you. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
