God made man beautiful with this conscience. With this conscience, he kept morals and kept order. Sometimes this conscience commands us to 'do it', and at other times it tells us 'don't do this'. It hurts my heart to do what my conscience dictates. It's painful.
There is a famous story of Nichimachi, who founded a seminary in Kyoto, Japan. Hagu is having a boat ride with famous people, and Nichimachi gets a drink. At that time, Nichimachi refused, saying, 'Can I drink alcohol after ordering the students not to drink alcohol?' Then he said, 'No one is watching, what are you doing?' and continued to offer drinks. This nichimachi is the story of 'I don't know people, but I know my conscience' and refused to the end.
Even among our church members, there is a person who struggled to quit smoking, but one day just quit.
Can a person who believes in God live by deceiving his conscience? How can you live by deceiving your own conscience? You must be able to listen to the voice of your conscience.
A person who lives according to the voice of his conscience is a righteous person. You can call it personality. However, those who live by selling their conscience will receive remorse and lead an unhappy life, and eventually receive finger pointing from others. That is why some have called conscience the place of God in the human heart.
The human conscience is where the most noble image of God remains. However, when a person deceives others with lies, his conscience gradually becomes dull and his life scorched in flames becomes corrupted.
The second voice to be heard is the voice of the people. There is a saying in Korean that the people's hearts are heavenly. In order to properly govern a country, leaders and magistrates must be able to properly listen to the voices of their members.
Only when the voices of the people are well gathered and reflected in state affairs can one become a good politician and a good leader. For a long time now, presidential candidates are making many promises and shouting. We need to think about how much the right voices of these people can be gathered and how much the gathered content can be reflected in the policy.
In the Old Testament, Solomon's son Rehoboam succeeded his father as king and ruled the country, but the people made several demands. The first was a request to lower taxes, and the second was a request not to overwork. But Rehoboam did not comply with this request.
They levied a lot of taxes. I did a lot of side work.
So Solomon's son Rehoboam occupies only the two southern tribes, and many peoples unite with Jeroboam as the center to form northern Israel. Because of this, North and South Korea were divided. The policy changes depending on whether the leaders listen well to the people or not.
