◎Genesis 1:31 ◎Explanation on Genesis (24)-Very good things
Today's verse says: “And God saw all that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.”
Some people use this part to claim that God did not say ‘it was good’ because the water above the expanse and the water under the expanse created on the second day brought Noah’s Flood judgment. Of course, this claim is not correct. But there is a point. And it is argued that the reason why we did not use the expression ‘it saw that it was good’ to the man created on the sixth day is because God foresaw the fall of mankind. Therefore, they claim that he did not use this expression in advance of the sins of mankind. Of course, this claim is not correct either. It seems so, but no one knows the answer. Because it is not recorded in the Bible.
So, what exactly is the expression “it was very good in the sight of it”? There is no need to grapple with the two unwritten parts. All we have to do is struggle with the recorded ‘things that are very good in our sight’. What is this expression?
This is the conclusion of today's sermon.
The purpose of God's creation of all creation is to be glorified. In the name of the Lord, I declare that you, who were created in God's special interest and love, live in a very good image in God's sight.
