Title Space, Time, and Work of Life

Life's space, time, and work

Text/ Luke 2:49, Luke 4:16-20 = 7:22, Luke 22:42

1. Introduction

He was called the Yuin Choi of all things (萬物之衆 唯人最貴). It means that God created man as the most precious of all things between heaven and earth. Being born as a human being is a blessing from God, which is more precious than anything else in this world. Therefore, what is the first prayer we ask for when any of our family members encounter disasters such as an accident, flood, fire, disease, etc. Money, fame, knowledge, talent, strength, beauty, health, it's okay to not have all of those things, isn't it just saying <Stay alive!>?

That's right. Being human is the most precious blessing. I think that being human is a blessing because we have been given the opportunity to realize the potential of being human. Each person was created with his or her own time and space in his or her life. The possibility of being human is to glorify God by integrating one's own time and space and revealing one's self.

Here, the living space is the place where each person should be. I think that the time of life is the time each person deserves to die, and work is the process of weaving the space where each person should be and the time when they should die in a clear, beautiful, and sincere way. . Jeon Woo-ik expressed this as “focusing one’s heart on something and someone else in life,” and that is exactly what it means (Jae Min-gyeop who lived well alone, Hyeonamsa, p. 27).

2. What is Jesus' space, time, and work?

I think the texts are words that well reveal the space, time, and work of Jesus. <Why did you seek me? Did I not know that I must be in my father's house? Luke 2:49>. Jesus said that the space of his life, that is, the place he should be, is the house of God.

<Father, if it is your will, remove this cup from me. But not as I will, but as you will, Luke 22:42>. Jesus looked right at the time of his life, when he was right to die.

<The words of Luke 4:16-21 have been fulfilled in your ears today> And as the words of <Luke 7:22> show, Jesus filled the space and time of his own life with the work of the Father (John 5 :17).

3. How is my living space?

It's beautiful to be where you should be. <Dog Food> By protecting the place where it should be, the star has become <Day Star>. At the Battle of Trafalgar (1805.10.21), Admiral Horecio Nelson, who defeated the mighty Napoleonic and Spanish fleets of 33 with his modest 27 ships, said to the fighting men: “Soldiers, there is only one thing Britain expects of you. I'm just asking you to keep where you deserve to be! England expects that every man will do his duty!>. With that, Admiral Nelson was victorious.

Am I where I should be now?

4. What is the time of my life?

Teach us to number our days (short life), that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12). It is better to go to a house of portraits than to a house of banquets, for that is the end of all men, so that the living will take care of them (Ecclesiastes 7:2). Seneca also said to remember death (memento mori!). Life is a connection between living and dying. It is life and death. All living things die. You are dust, and to dust you shall return (Genesis 3:19). I think the right faith of a believer is to meditate deeply on the time when one should die in faith.

Am I thinking about when I should die now?

5. What is my life's work like?

My work is to devote all my zeal, passion, and devotion to the space where I should be and the time to die. Here, <work> is <work> and <labour> in English. <work> is something you do while feeling rewarding and joy in your heart, and <labour> is something you have to do to make a living. In the case of the apostle Paul, weaving the tent is <labour>, and preaching the gospel is <work>.

Therefore, we should choose a job that allows us to work as a <work> rather than a <labour>. I'd say wherever you want it to be. But if you set your mind, I think it's possible enough. In my case, if you think it is impossible, you will have to find meaning in the <labour> you are currently doing, give it a meaning, and convert <labour> into <work>.

Am I doing the right thing now?

Life space, life time, and life work are the fundamentals of being human.
