Title Special Morning Rally (1)-Numbers 6:22~27 (2010.11.16)

Title: Be a Blessing Parent!

Main text: (Numbers 6:22-27)

Date: November 16, 2010 (Tuesday) 5 am

Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Grand Worship Room (first day of special early morning meeting for children and families)

“Once upon a time in a newspaper, there was a story about a father who took his teenage son to a small privately owned airfield. The rich man decided to meet his father's best friend and stuntman at the airfield, the pilot.

The son watched his father board the two-seater plane. The plane took off, and the seasoned pilot began the aerobatics he had been doing for years. It was time to soar back into the sky after a dive. The plane suddenly lost speed. He staggered and lost his focus, as if something serious had been issued. Moments later, the plane crashed and exploded near the runway.

My son was the first to arrive near the plane. The boy managed to get his father's friend out of the plane that exploded. He seemed to be able to live. Then he hurriedly brought him out, but he looked hopeless.

About 40 minutes later, an ambulance rushed in loudly. An amazing miracle happened while his son was waiting in pain. The father blessed him for a few minutes, trying to communicate his intentions clearly to his son, and the son also blessed him. The boy's father died before going to the hospital, but the words and deeds of the father's blessing that day were with him for the rest of his life.”

It is easy for us to ignore the urgent need to bless our children in our daily lives. Because I think there are more days to live than days to live. But none of us know the doomsday, the doomsday. So with this heartbreaking story of a father and son, I want to ask a question.

“If we only have 40 minutes to live, can we clearly say ‘words of blessing’ to our children?”

What would we do if we were the boy's father? We would like to share a message about how to bless children and how to make our homes into a home of blessing during this 'Special Dawn Assembly for Children and Families'.

1. How do we begin to bless?

Today's text is 'The Priest's Blessing Prayer'. When the Lord taught Moses this prayer of blessing, he taught Aaron and his sons to pray like this when they prayed for the children of Israel.

Let's read (text verses 24-26) together.

“The Lord bless (you), protect (you), the Lord greets (you) with a bright face, shows grace to (you), and the Lord looks upon (you), I wish you peace.”

Just as a pastor blesses a congregation, parents have similar privileges as priests in the home. Parents can give the blessings that pastors give to the saints to their children at home. A parent's blessing makes a blessed child.

2. Guidelines for Patriarchal Ministry

1. Don't be limited by your child's age, start now. don't stop

2. Every night before bed is a good time to bless your child, but you don't have to. Decide on the most appropriate time for your daily routine or the number of times you bless.

3. Choose the words of blessing found in today's text or the words of the Bible, or I can create my own. It is helpful to keep saying the blessing, but it doesn't have to be the same every time.

4. Blessings are never a substitute for prayer. Blessings, prayers for our children, and prayers with our children are important ways to engage our children in our conversation with God.

5. Explain to your child what we do and why.

6. Hold your children, place your hands on your head, and bless them.

7. Bless your children in the name of God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).

8. Teach that family blessings are one of the ways God blesses us and protects us.

“The Lord bless (Kang Yi and Sua) and protect (Kang Yi and Sua), the Lord treats (Kang Yi and Sua) with a bright face, and gives grace to (Kang Yi and Sua). , May the Lord see (Kang Yi and Sua) still and give peace to (Kang Yi and Sua). I pray in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
