Bible Characters - Jacob 1
When the children grew up, Esau, being a accustomed hunter, became a man of the field. Jacob, being a quiet man, lived in tents. Isaac loved Esau because he loved the meat he hunted, and Rebekah loved Jacob. When he returned and was very tired, he said to Jacob, "I am tired, so let me eat the red thing. So Esau's nickname was Edom." Jacob said, "Sell me your brother's birthright today." Then Jacob said, "Swear to me today. Esau has sworn to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and Esau ate and drank, and got up and went away, for Esau despised his birthright (Genesis 25:27-27). 34)
You will discover how poor human beings are and how great God is. The characters of the Bible are all full of flaws. God makes such a human being a great person. In particular, Jacob, whom we will see today, had all of human weaknesses.
Jacob was a man of honor. Jacob was a man who knew love. He devoted 14 years to love. Jacob was a man of money. Also, a strong-willed person is Jacob. He had a passion for reaching a set goal by any means and means. Jacob had all the attributes of being the coolest man in modern times. This is our story.
When we talk about the patriarchs in the Bible, we do not talk about the patriarchs, but about the God who worked with Abraham, the God who worked with Isaac, and the God who worked with Jacob.
1. Introduction
The Bible does not only record human beauty. Humans are both beautiful and dirty at the same time. It has both spiritual and physical. Jacob means "plunderer". "I grabbed the heel," he wrote. Jacob's entire life was a life of stealing from others.
His name was changed to Israel because he could not receive a blessing with that name. We are not evolving. It has to change radically.
2. The meaning of choice
As it is written, I loved Jacob and hated Esau (Romans 9:21). There are some words in the Bible that I cannot understand. In particular, it is not easy for us to understand these words. Why were you born a man? I can not know. By the time I was born, I was a man and a woman. We cannot give this answer. However, it must be understood as God's economy and sovereignty, which cannot be explained in such a way. The unsolved answer does not belong to us. So, why did God choose Jacob? From the perspective of why did he choose a sinner like me? How did I come to believe in Jesus, whom so many people do not believe in? Anyone who knows this is a heretic. 'Oh, I don't know why God's grace redeems this needy man.'
The doctrine of predestination is known in hindsight. The answer is found in Jesus. Knowing Jesus, looking back at myself, and looking back, I realize that God loved me so much.
Living in the world while wandering After going through all the ups and downs of life, one day, like a coincidence, he comes to believe in Jesus. And I am moved by Jesus who saved a sinner like me. Tears are shed, tears are shed, but the emotion does not stop. Looking back through Jesus Christ is amazing. You will come to understand why you were given such an environment and how you loved me at that time.
So, if you see the future through Jesus, you are not afraid.
The story is told through a character named Jacob. Who are we? not from it's Jacob Therefore, we are having a baby.
3. Jacob in the Old Testament
Esau neglected his birthright. Do not take lightly that you are the Son of God. It should not be easily sold for one bowl of red bean porridge.
Jacob takes away the 'birthright' and 'blessing' from Esau. So Jacob's life is a life of deceit. The lesson to be learned here is, 'You reap what you sow'.
Even if you want to mess with it, you shouldn't.
In a house where the parents are divorced, the children are divorced. Such a spirit flows. should be cut off
It is right to say that the curse lasts 3-4 generations. A person who hurts the heart of others will inevitably suffer heartache.
Jacob is deceived far more than he planted.
Don't sin, don't be angry, don't be angry.
What we Christians really need to do is mourn.
Torrey said, "God does not strike the wicked through the good."
Jacob spends 14 years for his wife. Jacob has a longing to meet God in this suffering. In this way, God made Jacob for 20 years. Jacob had to learn patience and humility. And I had to take on a new job. Because he was a scammer. It takes time to peel it off. Don't pray for me to come out of this valley of the shadow of death from the place of suffering, but change me.
Because of that, you can allow that environment.
