"Spiritual Lessons from Revelation 5"

Revelation 5:7-14

I. Behold the Lamb on the throne.

1. Isn't he the Lamb who is the mediator between the throne and the four living creatures and the elders (Rev 5:6)? He is the Lord who has risen to heaven and is still alive today. He is the eternal Mediator. He is the one and only mediator.

2. Are you not the Lamb who comes boldly before God and takes the book (Revelation 5:7)? Only he is the supreme person who can stand before God.

3. Are you not the Lamb who receives universal praise and worship (Revelation 5:8, 12, 13)? The reason is that his work of atonement is having a cosmic effect.

II. The end of the winner is glory.

1. It is the glory to approach God (Rev 5:7).

2. It is the honor of taking the book (Revelation 5:7). He is the ruler of history.

3. It is the glory of receiving praise and worship (Rev 5:8, 12, 13). The world succumbs before him. After all, the day is coming when the world and all the history in it will yield to justice.

After all, the world is the reward that the winners will own. Wasn't this the victory of Abel, the victory of Noah, the victory of Abraham, the victory of Isaac, the victory of Jacob, the victory of Joseph, the victory of David? Isn't it the victory of Paul, the victory of the Church Fathers, the victory of the Reformers?

. The sorrow of the church can be resolved before the Lamb (Revelation 5:5).

The place where the churches on earth, who are weeping with stories of all kinds of sorrow, can stop weeping is in front of the cross of the Lamb who was slain.

Only the truth of the cross is the key to solving the problems of individuals, families, nations, and the world.

IV. The main ingredient of happiness and victory is only the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 5:9).

It was poured out through the death of the cross. The blood conquered Satan (Luke 10:18, Genesis 3:15). He conquered the world (John 16:33). Overcame the yoke of the law (John 19:30, Romans 3:19). Overcome sin (John 8:34-35). Overcame death (1 Corinthians 15:55-56, Rev 1:18). At last he was entitled to take the book in the right hand of God.

. The redeemed church is the king and priest in the world (Revelation 5:9).

Isn't that the glory of the free grace obtained as a result of the payment of blood? It is said that “people were bought with blood” (Revelation 5:9).

① It means you paid the price. ② It means that it has been transferred to God's possession. ③ This means that it is useful. As a king, as a priest. As a ruler (head), as a person of blessing... .

Isn't it really only the blood of the Lamb that is the main ingredient of our victory and happiness?

. True faith and praise are always redemptive (Rev. 5:6, 8, 9, 12, 13).

Isn't it the Lamb that was slain for all the glory that appeared on the throne?

Believing in the only Son of God who died on the cross is the primary faith. Isn't this the subject of life that fills heaven and earth?

VII. The worship of the heavenly throne shows the essence of the worship that the church on earth should keep.

The worship of the twenty-four elders is just that. Their worship is ① The object of worship is certain. it's a lamb They worshiped before the Lamb (Revelation 4:8). ② The attitude of worship is humility. He fell down before the Lamb (Revelation 4:8). ③ The center of worship was overflowing with gratitude and joy (Rev 4:8, 9). Didn't they have a harp and a new song? ④ There were sacrifices in the worship service. It was a holy prayer in a golden bowl (Rev. 4:8). The prayers of the saints can be seen in heavenly worship. ⑤ The ultimate purpose of worship is to give glory to the Lamb (Revelation 4:9, 12, 14).

Today's earthly church, which worships with selfish, ups and downs, humanistic, and subjective emotions, must truly regain the essence of worship.
