Genesis 1:20 (b) ☉ Genesis Exposition (16) - Spread your spiritual wings
If there is one thing that I regret being born as a human, it is that I cannot fly. As a child, many movies showed how a person could fly. Now also the movie Harry Potter is showing it. It's a new age movie. It's okay to look, but don't be deceived after seeing it. My greatest envy when I was a child was the old lady's broomstick. And I felt bad when I looked at the devil grandmother for nothing. It's ugly looking, so why can't that person fly? Years later, he realizes that everything can only end with his childhood wishes. Many people want to fly. We see a lot of people in the media jumping with parachutes from airplanes. They think they're crazy, but they say that a non-flying person will never know what it feels like to fly.
If you look at the second half of the verse we read today, a bird will appear. Verse 20~
The most important thing to fly is the fact that you have to spread your wings. Even if you want to fly, you cannot fly if your wings don't do its job. Being able to fly is so beneficial.
Birds in the air can fly, making it easy to find food and escape. But even birds cannot fly unless the sky permits them. And even if you have wings, you cannot fly if you do not play the role of wings. If the sky can't fly when the sky says to the birds, "Why are you flying around here?", you can't fly. God commanded the sky to allow birds to fly. So what does heaven do? Let it rain every day. Suppose a bird is about to fly and there is thunder and lightning. After a week, the birds will all die.
God gave this command to heaven to protect nature from being so capricious that it would kill all the living things God created. Nature shouldn't be too capricious. I told you that the sea must always be constant so that the fish can live. So is the sky. Sometimes it rains and there are thunder and lightning, but if you do so that all the birds die, then the sky is disobeying its command. God loves and protects every single bird of the air.
Conclusion.
Prayer- Like birds flying freely in the sky, spread our wings of faith and spread our wings in our spiritual life, flapping our wings every day to win victory. Dear Eunpyeong Church students and teachers, please spread your spiritual wings.
