Pentecost Sunday 10612 Luke 24:44-49 Stay in a deeper place of prayer
Today is Pentecost.
Jesus ascended to heaven and the Holy Spirit came.
In the Old Testament, he came only to the anointed.
Now, in the New Testament, He has come to all people.
Jesus was resurrected and taught his disciples. Among them, if we look at the words recorded in the Gospel of Luke,
Verse 44 says this is what it says that all that is written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled. In a way, Jesus can speak of this through his suffering, death, and resurrection.
No matter how loyal and blind a disciple he may be, it is not easy to believe that a person is raised from death. Moreover, it is not easy for the other person to accept, no matter how much you explain it, that a person who has suffered and has been abandoned by the world can stand high as the Son of God.
Therefore
In verse 45, Jesus opened their hearts and made them understand the Bible.
ex) There are too many things that I have heard of giving up while reading the Bible.
I read it once a year and read it twice, but it's important to realize that it's not important, but the habit ends with reading three pages in a day, so I don't think about what the content is after reading it. Even if I remember, I stop thinking that I know
We need to change the habit of reading the Bible toward realizing it and meditating on it.
It is said that Jesus opened his heart and made him understand the Bible.
We must also open our hearts and our spirits to receive the Word of the Bible.
And Jesus is once again providing confirmation and direction. It opens the way for tomorrow to the disciples for those who cannot find their way.
Christ suffers and Christ suffers. The anointed suffers. The Messiah will suffer. And on the third day, I will come back to life, but it is not the end that I am alive, but it is the beginning.
Now, you are opening the door to the path of life so that the disciples must open the path of a new beginning with the fact that I am alive.
We must all enter through this door. All of our disciples must enter through the door of life that Jesus opened. It must enter the path of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, in the name of Jesus. You must go on the path of repentance. You must enter the path of repentance.
Now, the way of repentance is opened to all peoples in the name of Jesus.
You who are lost in life, you who are lost in your way, come to Jesus.
Those who seek the truth in life, enter the path of forgiveness.
Come to Jesus, you who are hurt, weary, and suffering in life.
If in your life you say you can't do anything because of your sins because you are under the power of darkness because of disease, because of poverty, come to Jesus.
He says that seeking human change anew on this earth leads to true repentance toward God, and it must begin in the name of Jesus.
Don't you know life?
Go to the path of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, in the name of Jesus.
Therein lies the real joy.
Therein lies the beauty of life by being with God.
In the name of Jesus, the movement of repentance for the forgiveness of sins will begin in Jerusalem and will be preached to all peoples.
In the name of Jesus, we must continue to raise up the movement of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
Because we are witnesses of all these things.
In verse 48, you are witnesses of all these things. The disciples were established as witnesses in the work of the Lord by being with the Lord.
The disciples did not see the Lord's work, suffering, death on the cross, and resurrection as witnesses, but also received a mission.
God works and we say what we see, hear, and know.
Jesus forgives our sins and we just have to admit it.
We have to be witnesses in everything.
Does this also make your life of faith difficult?
If the job of a witness is difficult
We are not yet clothed with power from above.
Are you still struggling with your faith life?
If so, we still haven't stayed in the place of prayer.
Jesus told his disciples to stay in this city first.
Jesus told his disciples to stay in this city until they were clothed with power from on high.
Jesus says that you will not leave yourselves alone to bear witness, but will give you what God the Father has promised.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses.
We must first stay in this castle.
We must stay here first.
we have been blessed
We are all-seeing and hearing-witnesses of Jesus.
Nevertheless
We must stay in this castle.
We must first remain in the place of prayer.
How long
Heavenly Father promised
From above until you are clothed with power
You must be in a place of prayer.
The answer is in the Bible.
As we long for the Holy Spirit and work with the Holy Spirit,
Not just once, while living as a witness
We must yearn for the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Asking to be empowered from above, to continue to bear the witness's life of faith
must hang.
Paul spent three years in the Arabian wilderness
Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness of Mount Sinai.
Joseph spent 13 years in prison
Jesus fasted and prayed for 40 days and was filled with the Holy Spirit and went to the Jordan River.
The disciples prayed with all their heart for ten days.
Just as the fire of the Holy Spirit fell on Mark's upper room
We too must long for the Holy Spirit with all our hearts.
Let's take on the life of a witness as an evangelist.
