Hymn 210 - When My Sins Are Forgiven
Psalm 51 “Repentance by Faith”
1. Knowing one's sin is the beginning of repentance.
Sin is not one's own standard, but God's standard, the word of God, becomes the law and the standard.
Only when we have faith that God's Word is the law, we can know our sins and admit our sins.
2. You have sinned in the sight of God.
When a person sins and does evil,
Faith is knowing that you are sinning in the sight of God.
God sees not only actions, but also the heart and mind.
All things are exposed before him as if naked.
Therefore, God's judgments and sentences are always righteous and just.
3. God accepts those who offer sacrifices with a broken heart
God is not pleased with burnt offerings and sin offerings
The sacrifice God seeks is a broken spirit
God never turns away from those who seek Him with a broken and contrite spirit.
Repentance is believing this and going before God with that faith.
4. The cross of Jesus offered the perfect sacrifice once and for all
God forgives the sins of those who repent and ask for forgiveness.
God sent his Son into the world to forgive sinners,
He gave his son to the cross.
Whenever we come before God with our iniquities and transgressions with a broken spirit
God forgives us and purifies us by the blood of His Son.
We cannot take even one step before God without the merits of the blood of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is our perfect and eternal High Priest.
