Title [Surprising Week Special] Let's Imitate Jesus' Passion

Contents

* Text: Luke 23:39-43

* Title: Let's imitate the passion of Jesus.

# Passion Week of Jesus //

* Today is the last day of special early morning prayer during Holy Week, with the title “Imitate the passion of Jesus!”

& God's Word! Let me prove it.

* During this Holy Week / because we want to imitate our Lord even a little bit...

& We meditated on the Word together on the topic of “Imitate Jesus”.

1) We must imitate the wrath of the Lord.

2) We must imitate the tears of the Lord.

3) We must imitate the Lord's patience.

4) We must imitate the Lord's silence.

* If you look carefully at the four Gospels / This Holy Week - for one week

& What deeds Jesus left behind... / You can guess to some extent.

1) Our Lord entered Jerusalem last Sunday.

- Jesus entering on a donkey / People break palm branches and wave...

& He took off his cloak and spread it on the floor / welcomed Jesus.

- As Jesus entered / he saw the city - he wept.

2) Monday - Our Lord enters the temple and “cleans the temple”.

3) And, Tuesday - The last words Jesus will leave behind

& especially among them / “Talks about the last days” are given on Tuesday.

4) And, one day on Wednesday - How important is “silence” to our Lord... /

& As if to teach us this / All day the Lord was silent.

5) Thursday - Our Lord had a “supper” /

& He put a towel around his waist and washed the disciples' feet.

- And after going to the Garden of Gethsemane / and praying that his sweat may become drops of blood

& is captured by the soldiers sent by the high priests.

6) And Friday - He was crucified today.

- That Friday is “today”.

# Jesus evangelized on the cross //

* Our Lord was crucified today.

- After being crucified around 9 am / He was hung on the cross for about 6 hours.

- This 6 hours / can be divided into two parts.

1) One part is from 9:00 to 12:00.

2) And, the rest can be divided from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.

** Everyone! / This first half and second half - between these two parts.. /

& When did Jesus experience more physical pain /?

& is it the front part? / Is it the back part?

** We secretly eat apples when we are hungry.

- Do you like the first apple you eat, or do you eat it later? // - Eating apples for the first time is delicious!!

* Likewise, / because he is the Lord who has a body / (although it was the same suffering of the cross)

& in the midst of that suffering / our Lord's suffering in the previous part...

& That is / to the extreme / to say the least.

** In such excruciating pain (I'm really going to die...) / Have I had time to look after others?

- Were you able to afford to be interested in other people's pain / about other people's problems?

* We can do a little / even if my body is tired, even if my body aches...

& Everything is bothering me / because he only sees me / and he doesn’t want to do anything.

** But the most surprising thing is, // right then! / (at that last moment...)

& shed blood on the cross, / despite being thrown into that indescribable pain...

- Our Jesus / about other people's problems, / about other people's salvation problems.

& deep interest / and you will find / working for it.

** That is the content of today's text.

* By the way, what to look for here / When was there an incident where this robber was saved?

- In verse 44, / "It was about the sixth hour..."

& the sixth hour is 12 o'clock in Korea time

** So / when did Jesus save a thief / when?

- It is that the suffering of the cross was the most severe / incident in the first half.

- Even in a situation that is so desperate that even one's own body cannot control it

& You find Jesus doing his best / to save a soul.

* Through the Bible / Passion of Jesus! - Meet the passionate Jesus.

* What was our Jesus passionate about?

# You were passionate about that. //

1. Jesus / above all, “that work!”

& Passionate about “saving a lost soul”.

* In Luke 15 / To find the one lost sheep

& All night long with torches / Over mountains and stuff, through thorns... Who is the shepherd who has been looking for?

- We are talking about Jesus Himself.

- Jesus Himself was so / passionate.

** Just look it up, / call it once, // can't find it... If there's no answer...

& don't just give up / keep looking until you find

& You will see the passion of Jesus.

* Look closely at the Bible.

- Even at dawn when everyone is asleep - You will meet the Lord who prays hard / passionately.

- Until late at night - You will meet our Lord / who works passionately.

- You can meet the Lord who heals and teaches the sick without even having time to eat.

** Even on the mountain. On the beach, in the wilderness... // Against adults, against children

& you can see / our Lord sweating passionately.

* Our Lord has always said this.

- “While it is still daytime, / we must do the work of him who sent me! / When the night comes, then no one can work!!”

** This passion / eventually made him even sacrifice his body / to the cross.

* The cross is a product of passion.

* The cross is the crystal of passion.

- Even if I had to throw my body / to save all mankind / if I had not had the passion

& The crucifixion is impossible.

* This passion of Jesus / The last hour of this Holy Week! - We should imitate.

- I hope that the burning heart of Jesus will become our heart.

* Jesus left us today / entrusting us with a mission.

- ‘Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations!’

** Jesus / (Jesus of passion) / asked us to do this.

* So, since the crucifixion of Jesus... / The procession of martyrdom continues.

- This procession of martyrdom / is also a product of passion.

- Because of this passionate procession / that we became children of God today! / Isn't it?

- While sprinkling blood on the banks of the Taedong River / of Missionary Thomas who preached the gospel

& Because of the blood of martyrdom - Aren't we here today?

* Everyone! Even now, many people in the world / are dying because they have not heard the Gospel.

- Because of distorted truth - They reject and persecute the Gospel.

** Now, the remaining areas where we need to spread the Gospel are... /

- You can't do it without "the faith of martyrdom"

- God has the passion of faith to be martyred today / to go all over the world

& We are eagerly looking for people to share the gospel with.

* The heart of young Thomas who came to school / challenged the mission / listened to the missionary

& began to become obsessed with missionary passion.

- “Lord, I want to be used in this work.”

* May 1863 / Brother Thomas - as dispatched by the London Missionary / came to China as a missionary.

- He came to China / and did his best to spread the gospel - even in poor circumstances.

- Leaving my pregnant wife at home / Going for a day - Preaching the Gospel

& used to come back.

** By the way, make sure you are in China! A year later / when he came home after preaching the gospel

& My wife is sleeping.

- 'Honey! Honey~!" When I woke up / it was already a cold corpse.

- My wife had a miscarriage / and I was going through labor alone / and I just died because of hardship.

* There were conflicts and resentment against God /

& Missionary Thomas - Heard of / while looking at the country called 'Joseon'

& Start sharing the Gospel.

- I got on a boat and came down to Hwanghae-do and delivered the Bible to the island of Baengnyeong-do.

- Again, Jinnampo - Through the estuary / American merchant ship / On the General Sherman /

& As he came up to “Pyongyang” along the banks of the Taedong River / while he was preaching the gospel

& As we well know / on August 9, 1866 - Martyrdom on the banks of the Taedong River.

- At this time, the Bible that Missionary Thomas delivered / was about 500 books... / He says so.

** Because of the blood of these martyrs / we are today- children of Jesus Christ.

* Dear friends!

- Why? Did our Lord / die for us?

- What did the Lord show us on the cross?

** This passion / that we must save dying souls!

- Make a final impression on this passion!! / You left us.

* It is important to meditate on the Lord of Suffering as we go through the Holy Week today.

& more importantly / that we have the passion of the Lord of Suffering

& going out into the world.

- And, to preach Jesus Christ.

* Towards the end / people of faith - hope that “passion” will disappear.

& Isn't the Bible prophesying?

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. / I want you to be cold or hot! / Because you are so lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth!”

* Please try to touch your chest.

- Is the blood of Jesus flowing in me?

- Do you have the burning passion of Christ?

- Because of passion, the Lord shed His blood on the cross /

& in the midst of the pain of the cross / He did his best to save a soul

& as we imitate the Lord of this passion / to go out into the world

& When you decide to share the gospel of Jesus Christ /

& I believe that this Holy Week will be a very meaningful Holy Week.

* The passion the Lord had / is poured out among us... /

& I sincerely wish you a gracious morning
