This text is a warning given to the Pharisees who do not understand themselves and condemn others. This is a lesson in the criticism and condemnation that disciples are most prone to in their relationships with their neighbors. According to the text, hypocrites and those who like to criticize belong to the brotherhood of evil. Which is actually bigger and more problematic, tees or beams? A lesson in eating out and critique through the story of Tee and Beam.
1. Why not criticize?
Because only God is the judge. In particular, if you often judge or criticize others in your life of faith, you will not be able to lead your life of faith correctly. Because God sees and knows the judgment accurately, you just have to leave it to Him and be faithful.
No one has the right to judge.
Criticism in the text refers to the act of condemning someone as a sinner.
Because everyone has flaws.
If you talk about other people's faults, your faults will eventually come to light. Please keep in mind that we are all dead in our trespasses and sins, and we are alive by the grace of God.
2. Those who criticize or hypocrites others do not know the grace of God.
Even when criticizing, those who met God cease to exist. Those who have seen God will see me. My problem is a big one. It is the mature Christ who realizes that I must change. I am a sinner worthy of death. The Apostle Paul said, “I am the chief among sinners.” Hypocrites are those who do not know the true God.
God is the one who sees the heart.
God's grace is meant to see me, not others. Those who realize the grace of God only see grace.
The blood of Jesus is the blood shed for me.
It is God's grace that only grace is shown and one's own faults are shown first. God's eyes find praise in Job, and Satan finds fault in Job. The eye of faith seeks and obtains grace everywhere.
Let's cast off the sins that are easy to commit in our relationships with our neighbors as we live in the world. Especially in church life, please remember that the Lord is the object of faith and brothers and sisters are the object of love.
