Title [Text: Hebrews 11:22] Joseph's Faith
Joseph, the person who appears in today's text, is the person we heard the most in Sunday School. He was hated by his brothers and sold into slavery in Egypt, but at the young age of 30 he became the prime minister of Egypt. There will be no one who does not know one Joseph. The writer of this book introduced Joseph's faith and said, "When he died, he spoke of the departure of the children of Israel and commanded his own skull." Genesis 50:24-25 says, “I will die, but God will counsel you and bring you out of this land to the land that he swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob… God will surely admonish you, and you shall carry my skull up from here.” The Bible testifies that Joseph died at the age of 110, and about 300 years after that, when the Israelites left Egypt, his skull was moved and buried in Shechem in the land of Canaan (Exodus 13:19, Joshua 24:32).
Joseph always looked into the future based on God's promises. Many parts of his faith can be covered, but in a nutshell, it can be said that Joseph lived with a dream. In Genesis 37:19 we see that the brothers call him "the dreamer". People of faith always live with dreams. A person without a vision is not a person of faith. Let's all become people of faith who live our lives with dreams. So I hope that we can all finally achieve our big dreams.
1. Those who have dreams always live consciously of God.
Joseph believed that God had given him a dream and that he was the one who would make it come true. Therefore, I lived without forgetting God for even a moment. God has given us dreams too. He also promised to make all those dreams come true. A person with a dream always lives consciously of God. We hope that all of our members will fulfill their dreams in God.
2. A person with a dream is not discouraged by any adversity.
Joseph went through adversity until his dream came true. The hatred and envy of his brothers was an unbearable hardship for Joseph, who spent his youth without a mother. It was another adversity that he was sold by his brothers and went down to Egypt. Serving in the house of Potiphar, the leader of the guard, or being imprisoned in ambiguity were all hardships for Joseph to handle. Nevertheless, Joseph was not discouraged or discouraged. It was because he had a dream and there was a God who would make that dream come true.
We too will face many adversity while living with dreams for the future. But no matter what adversity you face, you should not be discouraged or discouraged. Let us always have hope and persevere through adversity. A person with a dream can rather turn the hardships of the present into a good opportunity to make their dreams come true.
3. A person with a dream lives without distraction.
Joseph lived a clean life. I really lived a decent life. I lived faithfully. They lived without bias, left or right. He did not fall for any delusion. Potiphar's wife tempted him, but she resolutely refused, saying, "How can I sin before God?" A person with a dream is never distracted. We do not live a life that is swayed by the lusts of the flesh. I live in a more modest way. May we all have a godly life like this. We know how ugly people who have lost their dreams live. What do you think when you look at their debauched lives? I hope that the beautiful image of living without clutter will always continue in order to have a dream and to make that dream come true. Especially for young people. Let's never live ugly. Let's not waste time. Let's not live in sin. Let's live without compromise with injustice. I hope you only have a dream and live a holy life without bias.
4. People with dreams are generous.
Joseph was always on hand. He hates his brothers and comforts them even though he is in a situation where he can get revenge. They treated their families generously. Rather, he comforted his fearful brothers by saying that God had done everything. How cool was that? A person with a dream has a broad mind. Treat even your enemies generously. A person without a dream is timid. I have heartburn even with small things. Joseph smiles at his brother's bullying as well. Always positive and positive. Because I had a dream. It was because he was foreseeing his brothers who would prostrate before your knees in the distant future.
If we too have a dream, let's live more leisurely. Let's live generously Dreaming of the day when the Lord will reward us, let us have the generosity to forgive even our enemies. I hope that we will become people of true faith who embrace everyone with a heart like the sea.
5. People with dreams do their best.
Joseph was faithful. Worked hard. I did my best in everything. He was faithful while serving in Potiphar's house and served faithfully even in prison. I don't know how sincere I was even when I became Prime Minister. A person with a dream is never lazy. I do my best. Those who have a dream that God will bless them should never be lazy. You have to work hard until your dreams come true. You must try your best. I have a dream, so I have to study hard. I have a dream, so I have to work hard in business. Because I have a dream, I have to be sincere at work. If you see a person with a dream, you are active and active. And it's positive. We hope to see this in our members. I hope that God will be pleased with all the saints doing their best, and that their dreams will come true soon.
Like Joseph, let us all live with dreams. Dreams are for the future. Faith is for the future. I hope to live a life like a person with a dream while looking into the future. I hope that we will become saints who are conscious of the God who will give and fulfill their dreams, do not become discouraged in any adversity, and do their best with a generous heart without being disturbed in everything. So, like Joseph, I hope that all of us can achieve big dreams.
