Title [Text: Hebrews 6:13-20]
God is true. Someone who can never lie. That God Himself even made an oath and promised the kingdom of heaven. Jesus tore the veil in the temple and went to the Most Holy. You have come before the throne of God. As such, the kingdom of heaven where the throne of God is located is a blessed place that all Christians must enter, as promised by the oath and set by the Son Jesus Himself as an example. The life of the saints who will visit the promised heaven is mentioned in the text. To enter heaven … .
1. Be patient (15).
Abraham was patient. Because they firmly believed in the promises God had given them Romans 4:18-22 testifies like this. “Abraham hoped and believed in the hopeless … When he was a hundred years old, he knew that his body seemed to be dead and that Sarah's womb was dead, but his faith did not weaken, nor did he doubt God's promises through lack of faith. He was sure that it would be true, so it was counted as impartial to him? With this faith, the long-suffering and waiting was worthwhile, and I was able to receive Isaac, the gift God gave me. I hope that we too will be convinced of the promise, enjoy the blessings by patiently waiting until the end, and become all the saints who possess the promised kingdom of heaven.
2. We must avoid sin (18).
3. There must be comfort (18).
Comfort here means peace, comfort, and courage. Unbelief creates anxiety and frustration. Confidence gives you peace and courage. The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, works to give comfort, peace, and courage to the saints who live while looking at the heavenly kingdom. Without the help of the Holy Spirit, we would have stumbled countless times. In John 14:1, the words of Jesus Himself have great meaning. Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, and also believe in me. Peace and comfort, or comfort, comes through faith. With our faith and the help of the Holy Spirit, I hope that you will always have a life of comfort. A life of insecurity, a life of worry and anxiety, a life of constant conflict, a life of easily discouraged and frustrated life, a life of hesitating in fear and trembling, is not the life of Christians moving toward heaven.
4. We must have a strong and strong hope (19).
God cannot lie. He also has the ability to accomplish anything. That God even made an oath and promised. That promise is never in vain. Therefore, hoping for that promise must be strong and strong. This hope is the anchor of our souls. Boats are safe by lowering their anchors. It does not oscillate. Heaven is the first of God's blessed promises. When we live in hope of this promise, there will be no wavering in the world. Let this hope be the anchor of our souls. We have run so far towards heaven. I don't know how much more I have left, but I'll keep running. Paul's confession comes to mind. I have already been poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. From now on there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that day? (2 Timothy 4:6-8). Let us also become saints who run to the end with patience, holiness, comfort and hope.
