Title [Text: Hebrews 7:22-28]
Jesus is the one who accomplished our salvation. Nevertheless, there are many believers who are not sure of their salvation and live anxiously. Therefore, there is no true joy, no hope, and no loyalty to the Lord. The text we introduce today testifies to the perfection of our salvation accomplished in Christ. I hope that we will all receive grace through these words and live in confidence.
1. Jesus became the guarantor of a better covenant (22).
2. Jesus lives forever and prays (23-25).
Another reason our salvation is perfect. Jesus not only became the guarantor of a better covenant, but he is still alive and working. Verse 25 says, “He always lives to make intercession for them.” You should not think of Jesus as the one who came into the world, spent his public life, and died on the cross to accomplish all things and is now resting in heaven. You are still working. He is faithfully performing his role as a priest. He is praying for us. Hebrews 9:24 says, “appeared before God for us?” and Romans 8:34 says, “He is at the right hand of God, who intercedes for us.” Paul is bearing witness to the supplication of Jesus in the face of charges and condemnations and attempts to cut them off from Christ. Let's remember the Lord's prayer when we face various trials. Let's remember the Lord praying in heaven even when we are discouraged by tribulation and persecution. In all these things we will more than overcome him through him who loved us (Romans 8:37).
3. Jesus is the perfect savior (26-28).
No matter how much you love your child, if you jump into the water to save your droning child without swimming skills, both will drown, let alone rescue. You don't have to just be motivated. You must have the ability. Many priests with weaknesses were appointed, but they could not achieve salvation, so Jesus came into the world as a perfect priest.(28) He is worthy of our salvation.(26) The writer of Hebrews testifies about the perfection of Jesus. He is holy, blameless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens?
Our salvation in Christ is perfect. I hope there will be no doubts or shakes. I hope that you will become all the saints who have confidence, rejoice in hope, and are more faithful in the work of the Lord.
