Thank God.
Psalm 36:5-9
Many people who cause social problems see a lot of killing people and hurting children out of animosity rather than gratitude for society. Rather than giving thanks all the time, it is likely that I grew up listening to only the sounds of fighting, complaints and dissatisfaction.
-J A Hiltman's poem Thank God, please.
Thank God for my savior. Give thanks to the giver of everything. Be grateful for the present moment, not the past. Give thanks for Jesus who is by my side. Be grateful for the refreshing and gentle spring season.
Be thankful for the dark and lonely autumn. Be thankful for the now-forgotten tears. Give thanks for the peace in my soul. Be thankful for answered prayers, and give thanks for unanswered prayers!
Give thanks for the storm I have pierced, and give thanks to the One who supplies all things! Be thankful for your pain, thank you for your joy, and thank you for your comfort in despair. Be thankful for grace that no one can measure, and give thanks for love that cannot be compared. Give thanks for the roses that bloom by the wayside, and give thanks for the thorns on their stems.
Be grateful for the family, be grateful for the unity, and be grateful for the hope that makes you tolerant of pleasure. Be grateful for joy, be grateful for sorrow, be grateful for the peace of heaven with you. Be grateful for the hope of tomorrow. Be thankful now and forever -J A Hiltman
Even though it is difficult and difficult, rather than complaining and complaining, I am thankful for the Lord's salvation and thanking God for His love and grace. Likewise, David also praises the mercy of the great and high God through the text. David sings that God's kindness and faithfulness are in the heavens and reach into the air, and he says that God's righteousness and judgment are like mountains and seas.
Although David witnessed evil, he was able to rejoice while singing the mercy and righteousness of God, who is superior to him, because he served as if he saw the invisible God. The author of the book of Hebrews says that Moses was not afraid of Pharaoh's wrath (Hebrews 11:27), 'because he endured as seeing the invisible'.
Both David and Moses were servants of God who served by faith as if they could see the invisible God. The saints serve God with the same faith as David, and even if the whole world is full of evil and injustice, they do not only look at the evil and injustice of the world, but lift their eyes and see the much more abundant love and righteousness of God, giving thanks and praise.
So today we have to give thanks by trusting Him who accepts every act. In today's text, God's disposition toward David is well revealed. It means that God's providence is manifested not only in David's kingdom and family, but also in our home and country today.
So, today, we would like to talk about how we can thank God so that our families can be happy through the text.
1. Let's give thanks for the disposition that gave us providence with love (7-9)
Would King David be happy? Would it have been unfortunate? He has been anointed with oil three times, which he has never received. He is a brave man. Because of his bravery, he was always chased by King Saul.
Thinking he is a perfect believer, he sins through the beautiful woman next door. As a result, his eldest son dies as soon as he is born. Difficulties arose at home. Still, he gets down on his knees before God and gives thanks and praise.
Even when he ran away from his son into the wilderness, he did not forget to give thanks and praise. Even if his family turned into soybean flour, he did not leave, complaining to God as if all his faults were his fault. He served him with infinite trust in God.
To David, God appeared in mercy and faithfulness, in righteousness and justice.
These attributes of God were first revealed through the history of salvation. This character is well reflected in the history of saving not only humans but all living things, including both humans and animals.
Salvation here refers to God's providence of caring for the living beings, and as shown in verse 9, the lives of both humans and animals depend on giving. This idea is similar to Psalm 104. God sees and gives that both good and evil people are in the providence of care because their lives depend on God.
Everyone, like King David, let's live our lives giving thanks to God. We are mortal sinners, but God's providence forgives us and cares for us. Let us give him praise and thanks. Our life belongs to Him. Our happiness belongs to him. Recognizing that all our lives belong to Him, let us give all glory to God today. Hallelujah
2. Let us thank you for treating us with love and kindness. (7-9)
What does David praise in verses 7-9? That is the mercy of God. God's mercy became the best ground for King David's prayer today. Please see verse 10. ?쏞ontinue your kindness to those who know you, and show your righteousness to the upright in heart.??
God's kindness is clearly shown in the human figure who asks God for salvation. [Luke 23:43] Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise." In the scene where the thief asks for salvation, you can see that the request for salvation is granted right away.
You, God, is revealing to all creation through his lovingkindness that he is our refuge, our food and drink, and the source of our life. He also says that He gives grace to those who worship God through temple worship.
Like a city of refuge, it provides shelter to those who sin and flee to the temple, provides food through sacrifices, and in other ways provides practically a home, lodging, food and drink for us who live a social life for a living. do.
[1 Samuel 21:4] The priest answered David and said, "I have no regular bread in my hand, but I do have the holy bread, which I will give to the boys if they do not draw near to their women."
So, are these benefits given to believers? no. God's mercy is for all mankind
God's providence for We should be thankful not only for sinners, but also for God's mercy toward all mankind he has created.
Dear brothers and sisters, we also need the character of that kindness. Continuing fellowship with God will keep us in our weakness under the shadow of your wings, in the riches of your temple, and lead us to your joyful river.
See Psalm 23:5-6. [Psalm 23:5] You have set a table for me in the sight of my enemies; you have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows. / Surely goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Dear saints, like David, let us all give thanks and glory to that God today. That way we can be happy. Please do not forget that all life belongs to the Lord and remember that He alone can enrich all of our lives.
[Philippians 4:19] My God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
3. Let's be grateful for the rebuilding of a broken community with love. (7-9)
We see David rebuilding the broken community. In verse 9, the word ?쐗e??appears.
This word speaks of a community, not an individual, who is speaking of David's personal mystical revelation.
The people of that community see what the wicked see blind, and their collective prayer (v. 10) and private prayer (11) conclude this psalm. Knowing the Lord and professing their faith in Him with a right heart, they pray that His mercy will guide their present and future, not the power of the wicked.
Everyone, we must pray that our families and the community of the church will be reestablished and guided by the mercy of the Lord. Just as David's family and nation are re-established and restored... Our broken community must also be restored.
The future of our community was dark because there was only darkness for us. Through the light of the Lord, the darkness disappears and the community is re-established. The joy of creating hope for our future is something only God can do, and His mercy is We should be grateful because it is something only we can do.
I'm trying to draw a conclusion.
I don't think this conclusion is meant to be made by me. you take a look down What should I thank God for? Be grateful not only for the past or present, but also for what you will be.
Let's pray together.
