Title Thanking Jehovah God (Psalm 100:1-5)
Contents Today is Thanksgiving. It is a day to give thanks to God in gratitude for the grace we have received from God over the past year. God's grace is infinitely great and numerous. The grace that God gives us is so great and wonderful that no human being on earth can ever express it. God is saying to the Israelites, "Come to me and give thanks." Especially when keeping the festival, regardless of the distance, he says, "Come to the place I have appointed and give thanks."
The Bible tells us in many places that we should give thanks to God. In a sense, the entire Bible can be said to be a matter of thanksgiving. The grace that God saved us by sending Jesus Christ to this earth, the grace that defeated many enemies and protected us safely when we were living in this world like the wilderness, and watered us whenever we needed it and gave us manna and quail. There are countless things we should be thankful for, such as the grace that satisfies us, the grace that protects us from all diseases and the temptations of Satan and the devil. He tells us not to forget these graces and to give thanks.
2 Corinthians 9:15 says, "I give thanks to God for his unspeakable gift." And Psalm 116:12 says, "With what will the Lord give me the grace he has given me." You said. 1 Thessalonians 3:9 says, “With what kind of thanks can we repay God for you, for we rejoice in you with all our joy before our God.” . In particular, Deuteronomy 12:5-7 tells us to offer gifts in a place designated by God, and to give thanks and rejoice in God's blessings with the whole family there.
The people of the world are thankful for vain things because they cannot find anything to be thankful for. As we humans give thanks in error, such gratitude arouses God's wrath, disciplines us, and becomes a curse on us. God created the whole universe and blessed us humans. Also, because of God's blessing on us, he said, "Don't forget, remember and give thanks to me." All Jewish festivals are Thanksgiving, but this special feast, called the Feast of Weeks or the Feast of Harvest, or Pentecost, commands you and all your children to come to the place I have appointed and give thanks to me. He tells you not to come empty-handed, but to pay tithes, to offer large offerings, to free offerings, to sheep, and to the grain that you have gathered. All gifts are to be offered voluntarily, not grudgingly or under compulsion.
We should thank God. Giving thanks to God should be given by everyone, regardless of class or age. Psalm 148:1-5 says, "Hallelujah, praise the LORD from heaven, praise him from on high. Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his armies. Praise the sun and the moon, praise him, the bright stars. Praise the heavens, and praise the waters above the heavens. They praise the name of the LORD, for they were created at his command." He continues to speak in Psalm 148:7 and below. “Praise the Lord on the earth, you dragons and seas, with fire and hail and snow and mist and storms at his word, mountains and all hills and trees and all cedars, beasts and all livestock, creeping things, flying birds, kings of the earth, and all People, princes, and all judges of the earth, young men and young women, old men and children, praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted, and his glory is above heaven and earth."
That's right. From the high to the low, from the rich to the poor, from the old to the little children, regardless of gender, young people, virgins, soldiers, and even the leaders of the country, everyone should praise and give thanks to Jehovah God. Even the silent creatures are told to praise the God who made the heavens and the earth. I hope that this time will be dedicated to God as I think of the grace that God has given me.
Those who give thanks to God can glorify God. Also, God gives more things to be thankful for to those who give thanks. May your life always overflow with gratitude.
