Title [Thanks and Praise to God]

Contents

[Gratitude and praise to God] Psalm 8:1-9. 2007.10.07. Sunday Worship 1) Psalm 8 is David's psalm of thanksgiving. One night, David looked up at the sky and saw the stars in the sky, and the fields and countless flowers, forests, trees and forests, and the whole world could not be so beautiful. “Oh, how beautiful the world is.” Then he started looking at himself. So, who is the protagonist in this beautiful world? Aren't we people? God created man so beautifully and crowned him with honor and glory. After realizing that, I thanked God for making man a beautiful being before God.

2) Why is the world so beautiful? The autumn leaves of Naejangsan, the snowscape of Mt. Halla, the beautiful view of Mt. Geumgang, the leisurely flowing Han River and Seoseokdae of Mt. But the fact is that such nature made it for us. God created this world and entrusted it all to us. In fact, people are more beautiful than flowers. No matter how beautiful a flower blooms, what good is its beauty if no one can call it beautiful?

3) With this heart, David affirmed God's love and grace in himself. We thank you for making us capable of praising God in this way with affirmation and thanksgiving.

1. It is beautiful when you acknowledge yourself as a person before God.

1) Today in Psalm 1-2, your name fills the whole earth, full of glory and power. In the face of his glory, enemies and enemies also exalt the majesty of Jehovah and surrender. Even young children who are breastfed exalt glory and praise. confess that. The psalmist confesses that it is man's original duty to acknowledge Jehovah and to exalt his name.

2) The reason people are more beautiful than flowers is because they have the image of God, and they know and follow what they must protect and how to do. People have humility and meekness, respect and humility. He knows how to humble himself, and he knows how to take care of the weak. A person who knows how to share cooperation with the community. All these hearts are in our hearts and shape us before God.

Man came to be on this earth in the work of God. Therefore, our relationship with God begins with realizing God's helping hand, affirming God and acknowledging it in our hearts. Rodin is famous for his sculpture “The Thinker”. His sculptures always show the serious side of a person. He created a work called The Birth of Life, Its Mysterious Appearance. The sculpture shows a young man and woman hugging each other. Then he made large hands to support them and placed them both on the palms of his hands. He called the palm “the hand of God.” The famous Birth of His Life is a sculpture of that mysterious figure.

3) Man receives his life from God. Life, when a young man and a woman get married and hug together, life is born. But that life is in the hands of God. This is what our beautiful life looks like. And the Bible tells us to acknowledge that we are in the presence of God in this way.

Active thinking transforms the impossible into possible, copes with change, and even restores health. In the book The Power of Positivity, This active coping, this is faith. Faith is the acceptance of acknowledging that we are in God's hands.

2. His glory comes to us who acknowledge God.

1) Are we a beautiful life? Let us not forget that it is the garment that God has clothed us with in his glory and honor. When we acknowledge the Lord, the Lord exalts us above all things and gives us the glory of God. To acknowledge Jehovah God, what is it? It is submitting to the power of God and making him the master. When we call Jesus Lord, we have Him as our Lord. Today's psalmist David put God at the center of it.

The subject, the head, of every verse of today's psalm is Jehovah God. Life made by your fingers, do you think of me, or do you recommend me? The words, “Give them dominion over the works of your hands,” confess that the Lord who guides our people is our Lord. When we are in God's hand, God guides us and works. We are the people in God's hand. When you realize this, you are happy, and when you do not acknowledge this, you always have anxiety and worry.

2) Genesis 1:28, “God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. Conquer the land. Rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Our people are receiving this command from God because we are beings made in God's image to resemble God's image. No matter how beautiful the starry night, no matter how beautiful the autumn leaves or Naejang mountain is, will it be as beautiful as those of us who are blessed with God and live in it? So, the psalmist describes the beauty of the brothers who live in the presence of God, saying, “How good and beautiful it is that brothers live together in unity, like precious oil on Aaron’s beard, flowing down to his collar, and the morning dew on Mount Hermon from Zion. as if they were brought down in the gardens of do.

3) Once, I went to Juam Lake early in the morning. I saw Juam Lake from under the Seojaepil Memorial Tower, and at dawn, the mist was white, and the mountain buds were covered in the mist, but the morning sun was shining brightly. How majestic and beautiful it is. Oh, how beautiful is the garden created by God. I was amazed. However, it is said that we who depended on God and accepted God's glory are more splendid than the morning scenery of Juam Lake.

3. People who affirm God's grace are people of thanks and praise.

1) You are so beautiful. the world of the Lord. All the worlds that the Lord God has made, when I picture them in my heart. This hymn is not only sung during outdoor worship. This is my heart to serve the Lord with a heart that always depends on the Lord in all of our lives. It is a hymn of confession.

Today's psalm is especially grateful to the author for establishing man as a being who has dominion over all things before God. When a person comes into the world and is not bound by anyone or anything. How grateful it is to be able to place the fearful beasts of the mountains, the fearful natural disasters, and all things under his feet. Having received this grace of God, we are not afraid of thunder and lightning, and we are not afraid of the news of war or the darkness of war or famine. He rules over all cattle and wild animals, birds of the air, fish of the sea, and everything that moves in the seas. They are not enslaved to material things, that is, money, and are not bound by power or authority. Even when sickness comes or business is difficult, we obey only the God who has given us all blessings and kneel before him. This is our thank you title.

2) Last week, among our church members, I offered this prayer of thanks to God. “Merciful God, I thank you for your great grace that always surrounds me with love and for your wonderful grace that protects you like the pupil of the eye. Lord, give us strength both physically and mentally, and let our workplaces come with the power of the Lord that always triumphs.” As far as I know, the saint who prayed this prayer of thanks started the business right away, so it must be a very difficult time right now. However, he reported the difficulties to God with thanks.

There was also this thanks. “Thank you, Heavenly Father, who is so good. Even in despair and pain, hold me with your strong arm and strengthen me.” The saint who prayed this prayer was in an urgent state of being hospitalized because of a serious illness. But he thanked God for healing.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to the Lord. Then the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, will keep you.” As the Philippians say, those who depend on God confess that every adversity they encounter on the way of the world is the way to God's good results. So thank you even if you meet a rough road. As I said last time, an old American couple who lost their 24-year-old son by sending them to the Iraq War, they prayed this way at their son's death service. “God gave us this beautiful son, and we have been so happy on this earth for 23 years. God took this son early, so I believe that when we meet him before God in a little while, we will be happy there forever.”

3) Gratitude comes only from trust in God. If we have trust in God's help, we will overcome and overcome whatever we encounter on this earth. For such a person, life is always a praise. That is why the Psalm 79:4 of the hymn of all the worlds created by the Lord God is the lyrics of the assurance of the glory of God, “When my Lord Jesus comes back into the world, he will lead me into that kingdom of heaven. I will bow down in humility to worship and praise the Lord forever.” “You are so beautiful” Verse 4 of chapter 478 also says, “You are very beautiful. In your world, in the midst of the wind that blows on that mountain and the quiet brook, I hear your voice, and I know the great will of God there.” God's good will is always present in every part of our lives.

in conclusion

Therefore, believers who believe in the great hand of the Lord, let us give thanks to the Lord for everything. Let us be content with the Lord in all things. Let's praise the Lord. As in today's psalm, what is more beautiful than flowers in this world is a person who understands God's grace and obeys him. Let us accept the providence of the Lord. Open your heart and see the Lord calling you to the path of blessing. “O LORD our lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will become blessed saints who praise the grace of the Lord.
