Title That Name...
Jesus That Name I Can't Say
The secret in its name, the love in its name
Because I can't express that love, because I can't express its richness
It became a secret, the name became a secret
People rejected his name like the stone that the builders rejected.
The name engraved in my heart is a beautiful jewel
It's a precious secret I have, the joy hidden in my heart
Jesus oh that name I can't say
The secret of the name, the love of the name
Isaiah's prophecy
Today's text is a prophecy of the prophet Isaiah. About 700 years before Jesus was born, Isaiah prophesied in detail about Jesus' birth, His work, and His suffering, death, and resurrection. The text is a prophecy about the birth of Jesus. In the text, the prophet Isaiah shows what kind of person he is through the name of Jesus who will be born. In a word, Isaiah's prophecy is that Jesus is God. As I learn who our Lord is through the name of Jesus in the text, I hope that it will be a Christmas where I will receive Him completely in my heart once again.
Wonderful
This means amazing. We have no other way to describe Jesus other than simply saying, 'Amazing'. He is truly amazing.
First of all, how amazing is his birth? He is the eternal God, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit in a virgin body and was born into this world. God was born on this earth in the form of a human and lived with people in the same form as us. How mysterious and amazing is this? In the world, there has never been such a mystery again in history.
How amazing is his life? During his time on this earth, he performed many miracles and spoke powerful lessons. He had compassion on marginalized and suffering sinners, healed and embraced them. Those who saw His miracle and heard His powerful words were astonished and did not know what to do. Those who received his love could not overcome their emotions and were indescribably happy. How could someone so powerful could possibly be so loving?
How amazing is his death? How could he, who is God, who is without blemish or blemish, die on the most cruel and painful cross? How could an almighty Creator have died like that at the hands of insignificant sinners? However, through the death of this one man, all mankind received eternal life. His death touched and shocked millions of people all over the world, and they decided to start a new life. Because of his death, I am saved today and become a new person.
How wonderful is His resurrection? As prophesied in the Bible, He broke the powers of sin and death and rose from the dead on the third day. Not only is it wonderful that the dead are raised to life, but how wonderful is that His resurrection is the guarantee of my future resurrection. “But now Christ has risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:20). He is resurrected, and those who believe in Him, even if they die, live like Him!
How wonderful is His Second Coming? He was resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now at the right hand of God. And now, when the time is right, he will come back to this world with angels in glory to judge all mankind. How terrifying and majestic does the Bible describe about His coming and judgment? “In those days, after the tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then people will see the Son of Man coming on clouds with great power and glory. He will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens” (Mark 13:24-27). will enter the country.
The Bible is full of wondrous testimonies of those who have met this wonderful man. “When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he taught as one with authority, not as their scribes” (Matthew 7:28,29) “All were astonished and asked one another, “What is this? This is a new doctrine with authority. When he commands an unclean spirit, he obeys.” (Mark 1:27) “The people were greatly astonished, saying, “He has done well; he makes the deaf hear and the mute speak” (Mark 7:37). All were astonished, and glorified God, and feared exceedingly, saying, Today we have seen a marvelous thing” (Luke 5:26).
Counselor
This means counselor. Nowadays, the role of counselors is emphasized more than ever. Because everyone suffers from the ailments of the soul, such as anxiety, emptiness, loneliness, and emptiness. So, counseling is very developed in modern times, and many competent counselors have been produced. Nevertheless, the problem with counseling studies is that the effects of counseling are not showing much.
But the writer of Hebrews speaks of Him who is the true answer to all our problems and the source of wisdom. “We do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been in all respects tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). He knows my tears. He knows my loneliness, my pain, my anxiety, and my despair. And come to me and be with me. “What a good friend our Saviour, bearing our burdens . . . “Where in the world would there be a counselor like this?
There is a story handed down from Detroit, an American automobile city. One cold winter, on my way to work, my car broke down and I couldn't fix it no matter how much I opened and touched it. However, a passerby stopped the car and came and repaired the car completely with one touch. When I asked how he could do that, he said he was the Ford who made the car.
He is the one who created me. Can't the one who made me heal me? Won't he who makes my wisdom and makes my heart work, doesn't know my problems? Don't you know my frustrations, my disappointments, my sorrows? The one who made me can heal me. Today we can go to Him and get all our problems solved. He is the one who solves all our problems. His wonderful name is Counselor, Councellor.
Mighty God
This baby is not an ordinary baby, but a baby identical to God in essence, glory, and power. Almighty God came to this earth as a baby. “He was in the form of God in the beginning, but did not consider equality with God to be robbery, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, and being made in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:6-7). How amazing is it? However, people, as always, do not fully understand this wonderful truth.
If God gathers the angels, brings an army, and comes in great fear, “Repent. Trust me. Otherwise, I will destroy them all.” How afraid would we have been? Perhaps no one could approach him. Perhaps no one was truly willing to welcome him. But He was born as a baby in a manger so that anyone could come to Him. This was to be close to us. It was to have mercy on us. He humbled himself in order to come close to me. How great is that love?
Regarding God who came as a child, John said: “No one has ever seen God, but the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father has made him known” (John 1:18). It was God who came as a child. Now the whole world worships Him who came as a child and grew up quietly in the land of Nazareth. All mankind is being decisively influenced by the One who came as a baby. He saves those who believe in him and makes them his people. He is the Almighty God. He who rules the whole world is now my God. The name of the one who came as a child is Almighty God.
Everlasting Father
This baby is the father. The father came as a baby. The beliefs of those who call God the Father and those who simply vaguely call God or the Absolute are as different as heaven and earth. When we receive Jesus Christ in our hearts, our confession of faith that we call to God from the depths of our souls is ‘Father!’.
A father is the one who embraces his son with beautiful arms of power, love, authority and protection. The most intimate and most reliable being is the Father, and that is what God is to us. “Look at the birds of the air, they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them, are you not more valuable than these?” (Matthew 6:26) How much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him?” (Matthew 7:11) The name of Jesus Christ, 'Eternal Father,' means the Father God does his best to prepare for us. Because of him we are provided with everything, and in him we lack nothing.
Prince of Peace
The words of the angels singing and shouting on the night that Jesus was born are recorded in Luke 2:14. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased.” It is not just ‘glory in heaven, peace on earth’. “Peace among those with whom he is pleased.” Even though Jesus has come, wars, famines, earthquakes, pains and crimes, tears and groanings are not going away today. These things will continue until Jesus comes again. Why? Because they do not have Jesus Christ as their King.
But there is peace among those who have accepted Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, and are pleased with God. Jesus Christ has come, but the world is still in turmoil and knows no peace. But in my heart that has received him, there is peace. Christians are at peace when they suffer, not because they do not suffer. Because the Prince of Peace dwells in us. “I give this name to you that you may have peace in me. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) “Peace I leave with you; my peace I leave with you. I give to you, not as the world gives to you” (John 14:27).
How noisy and complicated is the world today? But in the midst of turmoil, pain and chaos, Christians can find peace. It is because the Lord, the Prince of Peace, gives us peace. The peace that the Lord gives cannot be taken away by anyone or anything. The baby who came to this earth for us, the baby's name was the Prince of Peace.
We live in a world of suffering, despair, and lamentation. But if this baby is our Savior, we can be happy and at peace. This baby is amazing, our counselor. This child is the Almighty God, the Eternal Father, and the Prince of Peace. Is this baby really your Savior? If not, welcome him. Isn't this Christmas season a wonderful time of blessing to receive the Lord? I hope that you will truly receive this Lord and have a Christmas that is greeted with thanksgiving and thrill of salvation, a Christmas that restores happiness, and a Christmas that is full of joy and peace. Almighty God who came as a baby today, I bless you with the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
