Title The ability of words

The power of words (James 3:1-12)
The difference between success and failure is in words. The difference between happiness and unhappiness is also in words. There is also a difference between the rich and the poor. But people think that all these differences are in terms of conditions. I think it has to do with education or background. The Bible tells us that all of this is due to words.
(Proverbs 18:20-21) 『[20] A man is satisfied with the fruit of his mouth, and he is satisfied with the fruit of his lips. [21] Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and to use it. Whoever likes it will eat its fruit.” There is a proverb in Korea, “Even if you owe a thousand nyang, a word”. Also, it is said that “if a woman has a grievance, frost will fall even on New Year’s Eve.” When a person harbors resentment, he speaks a curse. It is said that the cursed words with poison that come out of a woman's mouth bring frost in midsummer. The power of words also governs the natural environment (Mark 4:39).
Words shape a person's thoughts, shape his attitude, shape his character, and shape his life. A person's words contain his thoughts, feelings, and will. There is a saying, “Eonjung 有骨 (言中有骨)”. That is, there is an idea in words. Words make people. Words make success, words make failure. Words make heaven and hell.
Modern people are unaware of the value of words. So you speak rudely. But, in fact, there are few times when people realize the importance of words as much as these days. Because now is the era where a single word can change the world.
A single word from the leader or CEO of a country changes the image of a country or the interests of a company. Huge profit or loss for national finances and corporate profits. In July 2007, South Korea's Pyeongchang and Russia's Sochi competed fiercely for the bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympics. Ahead of the final announcement, when it was almost certain that Pyeongchang would host the Olympics, Korea was devastated by the sudden change of venues for the Olympics to Sochi. However, the reason why Sochi was able to host the Olympic Games over Pyeongchang, which had superior conditions in many ways, was the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin. With Pyeongchang almost certain to host, Putin finally gathered the Olympic hosts and gave a stutter, short, clumsy French speech, which turned the tide. On the other hand, former President Bush of the United States made frequent blunders and disrespectful speeches, such as pronouncing 'APEC' as 'OPEC', at the APEC summit in Australia, and for this reason, his leadership was questioned by the people.
What you say is a big issue, not necessarily the president. Because a person's life also begins with words. Therefore, today I want to share the importance of words through the text of the text.
1. Today the writer of James says that words are a bridle.
Have you ever seen a caterpillar pluck a thread from its tail and wrap it around its body? Words are just that. His words bind him. It determines a person's life, career, success and failure. But people say take this and sell it. Some call it fate, some call it fate. But it is not. Your destiny is not set by your hands, but your words are shaping your destiny. Your words create circumstances, create conditions, and create opportunities.
The pastor heard it tens of thousands of times as he grew up. When his mother finally passed away, he looked at his family register and was surprised. The number of years and time that my mother died was 49 years, 364 days, and 15 hours. If you live 9 more hours, you will be over 50, but you haven't been able to fill it. It was as my mother said.
(Isa 55:11) “The word that goes out of my mouth will not return to me in vain; it will accomplish my will, and it will prosper in the work for which I sent it”
(Luke 10:5-6) “Whenever you enter any house, first say, ‘Peace be with this house.’ If someone is there, your empty peace will rest with him; otherwise, it will return to you.”
Therefore, every word is our life. Because rough words make a rough life, and kind words make a prosperous life. Just as the food we eat shapes our bodies, so the words we say shape our lives. Therefore, I hope that you use your horse wisely to create beautiful paths and fences in your life.
2. A horse is like the rudder of a ship.
A gigantic boat changes direction with a small rudder. If there is a key that determines our lives, that is it. Those who succeed tell us to succeed and those who fail tell us to fail. Unhappy people say unhappy, happy people say happy.
One word, “You will do well” brings perseverance and success. A single word “what you know” leads to abandonment and failure.
In a small church in the countryside, a child was helping Sunday Mass. But as soon as he opened his eyes for a moment, the wine from the altar was spilled on the floor. Then the angry bride said to the boy, "You fool, never come here again!" and shouted. In another church, a child made a similar mistake during Sunday Mass. But the priest there looked at the child with warm eyes and said: "Okay. I also made a lot of mistakes when I was young. You too will be a bride.”
The child, expelled from the church over the years, became President Joseph Broz Tito, who practiced the most powerful tyranny in the communist country of Yugoslavia, and the other child encouraged became the famous American archbishop, Hulton Sheen. Therefore, I want you to remember that careless words gather and guide our lives. A single word of “You did a great job” washes away your tiredness and makes you a harder worker. A single word of “Well done” instills courage and makes a person who develops further. A single “thank you” can refresh and make you a kinder person. A single word of “I love you” brings reconciliation and makes people more understanding.
3. The tongue is said to be fire.
Not long ago, there was a great disaster in Icheon, in which about 40 workers were killed at once. The cause of the disaster was fire. When used properly, fire brings prosperity to civilization, but even the slightest misuse of fire can cause enormous damage to property and life. Words are like this. If you speak well, you will prosper, but if you are not good at speaking, you have a great destructive power that can even lead to murder. Humans cannot live without talking for a day. Unlike singing and exercising, speaking cannot live without a day. Also, once speaking becomes a habit, it cannot be changed. Moreover, since a person's speaking ability is not developed overnight, a horse has a tricky side that will never change unless it is carefully taught from the beginning of learning it. Therefore, taming the tongue is more difficult than controlling anything.
However, when used properly, the tongue can have a tremendous effect.
“A man finds joy in the answer of his mouth. How beautiful are words at the right time.”
4. Finally, they say that the tongue is a fountain.
When a person chooses a place to live, the first thing he considers is the spring. Where there is a spring, a village is formed A spring is the source of life that nourishes all living things. But when the water becomes polluted, people disappear and villages disappear. Just as polluted water kills life, so polluted words, tainted with resentment, hatred, complaints, and negative thoughts, kill people. It pushes life into the abyss of despair and failure.
A man was scammed, robbed his entire estate, and left his wife and children, leaving him homeless overnight. I wandered around Yongsan Station and went to a restaurant near the station to beg.
But not only did he never set foot in any one of those many restaurants, he was beaten every day, and the dog was released somewhere. He became a semi-maniac at the harsh swearing and harshness of the people. He went to every restaurant near Yongsan Station, but when he was beaten, he decided to set fire to the store by pouring gasoline on it at night. He vowed revenge by striking an X from house to house. Then I entered a certain grandmother's noodle shop in a small alley. The grandmother smiled brightly even when she saw his wretched face, and rolled up the noodles neatly. I was hesitantly pouring noodles into my stomach, but when my grandmother suddenly took out the bowl, she poured me back a lot of boiled noodles and broth.
Words make you happy and words make you unhappy. Words make your life and mine. Put away from your mouth negative words, words of complaint, words of resentment, words of hatred, words that slander others, and words that expose others' weaknesses.
Instead, say beautiful words, kind words, positive words, words of praise, words of thanks, words of comfort, words of service. Then your life will be smooth. Success will come. Happiness will come.
I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will become wise words in the Holy Spirit, glorify God and live a life of experiencing miracles and blessings.
