Who are the Chaldeans mentioned in the text? They are said to be “a ferocious and hasty people, a people who rob others, and those who have made human power their gods.” Human strength is not from God, but from man's wisdom, ability, material, and authority. The most serious of idols is the deification of man's own power. That is the Babel civilization.
Those who believe in human power and live their lives become low and lowly.
Because life itself is governed by human lust. A person who serves a holy God is transformed into a person who resembles His holy disposition, and a person who worships an idol is governed by the value and meaning of the idol. The Bible defines idols as “dirty things.” Verse 8 compares the Chaldeans to “eagles”. The Bible compared the Chaldeans to the negative side of an eagle. It was given such a nickname because it feeds on carcasses of animals and humans. Like an eagle wandering through fields and forests to eat dirty things, those who worship human power as idols instead of God's truth will have their lives changed to lowly things.
When should the saints walk according to the Holy Spirit?
Philippians 3:19 and Galatians 5:16 explain those who worship human power as idols. The thoughts and actions of the saints should not be dominated by human power and lust. We must walk according to the Holy Spirit.
If we rely on human strength, everything we do goes against the will of God.
