Title: Unity (Ephesians 4:1-6)
Recently, the Korea International Trade Association announced the status of Korea in terms of 202 economic, trade and social indicators. Among them, the thing that stood out to me the most is the divorce rate, which ranks third in the world. What this means is that we do not know how to live together. He runs well alone, but in a joint life of two, three, and four, he lacks interpersonal skills. This is a social problem and a national problem. We all have a great challenge ahead of us that requires us to examine ourselves once and learn and train how families can relate to each other. We are called by God. The person who is called has the appearance worthy of the calling. When God calls us, those who are called are gradually changing, and our appearance is changing. How is it changing?
The second is meekness. It's soft. In the past, adventurous men were considered to be like Tarzan. A really good man is a gentle man. Meekness is strength. The weak are arrogant, the weak are strong, the weak act and speak harshly, and those who are really strong and beautiful on the inside, those who are strong, control themselves and live in a meek manner. This is the difference between those who believe in Jesus and those who do not. No matter how big a man who believes in Jesus or how strong a woman who believes in Jesus is, God’s people are tender. No matter how strong you are on the inside, I want you and me to have the appearance of gentle meekness because of your temperance on the outside.
The third is patience. In the Bible, it is said to be “long-suffering,” but the English Bible translates it as “long suffering.” It is to endure suffering for a long time. You sometimes say, 'I have a quick temper...' The same is true for all things urgent. Anyone can be temperamental without beautiful qualities. If your wife is patient, your husband is patient, your brother is patient, thank you. They all have thoughts, feelings, and feelings. There are injustices and upsets, but God People, when it boils to an unbearable level in the future, think again. Thank your family for putting up with your temper during this time. And in prayer with you, I say, “God, help me. Holy Spirit, help me and give me patience.” It is a characteristic of a person called by God.
The fourth is love and acceptance. Love is people who always give up on themselves and focus on the other person. They are people who put others first. It is love that thinks about the feelings of others, considers the circumstances of others, and considers the interests of others. What is tolerance? It's about acknowledging that you and others are different. When God made us, He made us different. There are 16 types of personality analysis. We often think that if we are different, that person is wrong. If it's different, it's not wrong, it's different. I think it is wrong to say that my thoughts, my values, my position, and my appearance are right, but me and everyone else are wrong. That's a big misunderstanding. Acknowledging other things, this is acceptance. I've been thinking a lot about what love is. One of the characteristics of love is acceptance. Love is not about making things fit your heart, but about accepting each other even if they are slightly different. Everyone! Even if it is a little different from you, just accept that you are different. That is what those who are called by God look like, and that is what we are moving towards.
Then there is peace. “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” It is said to keep the unity. To protect my family, my church, and my country and nation, I have to pursue peace. In the midst of war, conflict and confrontation, there is no such thing as peace. Peace comes only when we seek love, reconciliation, and understanding. But how do you create peace? You need to create a peaceful mind. I have a complicated mind and conflicts in my heart, but I can't create peace. Above all else, seek peace in the fruit of the Spirit. “God, give me peace today. Give me peace so that I can make those around me peaceful and those around me. Give me the peace I need today. Complex things are happening. Everyone is fussy. But give me peace in the midst of the storm.” Let us pray to God that peace may abound in your hearts and in your faces and words.
Finally, it takes effort. It takes effort to live as one. You can't become one without trying. Today's Bible verse also says, "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Effort is effort. But just trying my best is not enough. As I try, I say, “God, bless this effort.” As you make such efforts, you should ask God to bless your efforts. Only with effort can we keep our unity. It is the same at home. So is the church. No matter what community you are in, I want you to have humility, meekness, patience, love, forbearance, peace, and constant effort to keep oneness in your life.
Jesus said: He said, “Let a man leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and become one flesh.” So the married people became one. Jesus said again. “What God has joined together, let no man separate.” To do this, we need God's help. We need God's help to keep our families together. As you persevere in prayer, seek humility instead of pride, meekness instead of arrogance, love instead of hatred, forbearance instead of rejection, peace instead of strife, and effort, so that you are worthy of God's call in your appearance. I hope that you will all contribute to the blessing of one family, one church, and one nation as a lot of spiritual fruit is produced.
