Title When the Family Gets Together

Contents

[When the family gathers together] Psalm 127:1-5 2006.10. 01. Sunday worship service

?Era of Diversification In the postmodern era, the meaning of our family or family is very complicated. Twenty years ago, people looked at the nuclear family in a strange way, where only young couples without parents were living. However, the nuclear family has become common and now is the era of the one-person family. It means that one person makes one household and lives alone. It is common for young people who are economically and socially capable to live single lives without marriage. Their idea is that they do not want to be tied to a complicated marriage, leaving the groom behind and not wanting to be tied to their family. It is the changing customs of the younger generation.

?At the same time, God makes us realize how important it is to build a house together and form a family. God made the first couple in this world, made them parents, and gave them children to become a family. The Bible always reveals the importance of this kind of family as a people who are building up on this earth. The people of Israel regarded this family as a place that God had established, full of God's blessings and full of grace. We are sent by God's grace to be part of this family, a community together. Praise God in the community in which we relate.

?A holiday is a precious season for us. This is because it is a season when scattered family members gather once a year, and it is also a season where you can greet neighbors you have always been grateful for like a family. Families who have returned to their parents' homes after a long time after living far away, let's remember that we have lived by the grace of God.

1. The home is the place of God's grace that we should cherish.

1) Today’s text verse 1 “Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” Without God, there is no fruit. It is a blessing of God's grace to us that we can lie comfortably at home and sleep like honey, and that we can see the faces of our growing children and make them God's inheritance.

2) God establishes a home where His grace is manifested and commands us to raise the voice of praise to God in that family. So God has given each person an order to treat his family according to his position and status. When a husband and wife lead a family, the husband cherishes the wife and the wife cherishes the husband. Based on the order of the husband and wife, each person cherishes marriage and tells them not to defile the bed. A couple's bedroom in the home is the most important sacred blessing in the family that God has established, so it is a special request that no one go beyond it and defile it. The relationship between parents and children in the home is likened to our relationship with God. Parents are people who have been entrusted with God's life, and they will act as if they were God's authority, and children should obey God's authority and obey God's order.

3) On holidays, parents and children get together. And even the children's hands will all gather and the home will be crowded like a large family after a long time. When we gather like this on a holiday, I hope that you will practice the order God wants in our family and the preciousness of family.

2.Children should be to his glory by acknowledging their father's authority.

1) Today's text in verse 5 says that the figure of a father standing around his father because he has many children is like a quiver full of arrows. And before saying this, verses 3 and 4 say, “Children are the inheritance the Lord has given, and the fruit of the womb is his reward. The children of a young man are like arrows in the hand of a merchant.”

2) God says that He makes us His children. So God is our Father. The reason God speaks Himself to us in this way is that the Father is the parable through which we can most desperately understand the invisible God. We may not know God well, but our Father can know Him well if we call Him Father. In the same way, calling on God and remembering the father, we must remember that the father gives authority to the family, and the children obey and bring about harmony in the family.

3) In particular, he gave his father the right to bless the priest. Just as the priests of Israel offered sacrifices and prayed for the blessings of the people before God, God gave the Father the authority to bless them. And the father made his children pray for blessings.

So, as fathers, we need to realize that God has given our Father the power of prayer and to be able to bless our children. When we confess, “I am the father,” as taught in my father's school, we take on the responsibility of that father. When God welcomes His children to us, He tells us to bless them as fathers.

4) Children must acknowledge the blessings God has given to their fathers and receive his prayers with an obedient heart, believing that this Father's blessings will come to pass. He says that he will raise obedient children into the ranks of the people of faith.

When the separated family members gather together, there will be an adult chairperson among them. I hope that the gathered members will experience God's grace centering on him, exalt him, and receive the blessings God gives him to do so.

3. We hear the words of the brothers who are motivated by God's one grace to be reconciled.

1) Let me tell you one more story about arrows in the arrow box. The quiver holds many arrows. Arrows in a quiver are mixed together in one place, reserved and used in warfare. One quiver is one family. It can also be referred to as a community or a nation. Then we, who are gathered in one place, have to prepare with a common goal and achieve harmony. If one arrow is put in one quiver and one arrow says "You can't do it" and rejects the other, the quiver cannot be filled together. In this way, it teaches that brothers and comrades in the same father's house should be reconciled with one heart.

2) Brotherly unity and cohabitation This is the happiest aspect of children seen by parents. If it is the unity of God's children who are blessed by working together and accomplishing difficult things together, Psalm 133 says, "How good and beautiful it is for brothers to live together in unity, and the precious oil on their head is the beard, that is, Aaron's beard. It flows down to the collar of his robe, like the dew of Hermon on the mountains of Zion. There the LORD hath commanded the blessing, everlasting life.” praises it. As the dew of Hermon becomes water and covers it on a dry and waterless land, like the fragrance of perfume flowing down on Aaron's installation, and its fragrance vibrating throughout the room.

3) The people of Israel are traditionally called the nation of 12 brothers. Because the tribes that make up Israel are established through the twelve sons of Jacob. In the nation of Israel, these twelve brothers have always developed the nation through reconciliation and cooperation.

?However, there was a time in history where they did not reconcile. The brothers persecuted and persecuted his brother Joseph, and sold him as a slave to Egypt. How much regret did the brothers regret because of this, and when they later met Joseph in Pharaoh's palace, they did not recognize them and talked about the old days with each other?

?Once again, after Solomon's death, when his son Rehoboam became king, he and Jeroboam were divided into ten and two tribes. When the brothers are divided into north and south, their natural strength is weakened, and they will not soon experience the misfortune of the destruction of the nation. When the twelve sons of Jacob, who were made with arrows filled with one tradition, did not reconcile and were divided due to strife, strife, and strife, they failed a great deal and received a lesson from history. Working with brotherhood is just as important.

On the other hand, Lazarus's family was a beautiful family in which brothers and sisters were friendly and cooperative. So the Lord was willing to go and be with those well-known comrades, and even in the death of Lazarus, he took pity on him and gave him the blessing of raising them back to life. Let us remember that the Lord called Lazarus “my friend Lazarus.”

4) So, if we, too, get together on this holiday, especially, we hope that our brothers and sisters will realize that they are one brother and become a loving family. When people are motivated to live, sometimes they disagree and sometimes argue and sometimes turn their backs on each other. However, the thought of being one sibling and brother of one parent gives us an inseparable kinship of one family. God calls us to become brothers like him.

4. Above all, the most important thing is the Lord's family gathered in one place, we must remember that we are God's family centered on God by faith.

1) We can gather together because we are the Lord's family with one faith. So, we gather together every Sunday and worship service to praise God and confirm that we are His people. How great is the blessing of being part of God's family on this earth?

2) This is the promise of flight 128. Blessed is the God-fearing family, and they will reap the fruits of their hard work and eat them, and they will prosper and prosper. In such a family, the wife who dwells in the inner chamber is like a fruitful vine, and the children sit around one table and eat together, like a young olive tree that is coveted. The Lord will bless such a family in Zion, and he will bless you with peace and rest in Jerusalem for the rest of your life. is the word.

Conclusion.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is the supreme happiness for our people to have one God, to call him our Father, and to enjoy the blessings he has given us.

So, when we gather in one place for this holiday, let's practice God's blessings. A family of faith relying on Jehovah. “The spring breeze blows in all four seasons, and because God the Father is there, the rock of faith is also strong. This is God's kingdom of heaven. Thank you, Emmanuel, our house that only serves Jesus.” In the same way, I pray that the people who exalt Jesus and receive blessings, cast away the idols that God hates and hate, and become a blessed home that serves only the Lord.

So, this holiday season, the family will worship together in a groundbreaking thanksgiving service, and God will be present during the worship service and come as our blessing. Like Joshua and his family, who gather to worship God and practice God's will, I pray that you will be filled with such grace.
