Title: Whose Voice Won?

The morning of the resurrection was bright. May God's grace fill your listeners this morning. Today, among Luke 23:20-24, especially verse 23, we focus on "Who's voice prevailed?" I will share the blessing with the title.

[20] Pilate wanted to release Jesus, and said to them again, [21] They cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. [23] They urged with a loud voice to ask for crucifixion, and their voice prevailed. [24] Then Pilate ordered them to do as they asked. [25] And they released their seekers, those who had been imprisoned for riots and murders, and gave Jesus over to their will [Luke 23:13-25]

On the other side of the globe, Iraq is now experiencing many casualties and refugees due to the war. Due to this war, many people stop working and suffer physical pain, as well as losing their family due to death, and they live in fear of having to face a tragic death. If you look at history, you can see that all wars have been led by a certain few extremists. They always claim that this war is unavoidable with plausible justifications, but in reality, we all know that it is intended to seize certain interests. And the victims of such wars are the majority of ordinary citizens.

The political supreme rulers of the United States and Britain who started this war also claim that they started this war to drive out Iraq's dictator and liberate Iraq to make it a livable democracy. As the President of the United States said, we all know that the incumbent ruler of Iraq is a dictator. He deserves to be punished, and he should be withdrawn. However, it is also unacceptable to force another country to start a war by force. As a result, only good citizens, not dictators, are harmed. It is like bursting shrimp in a whale fight Throughout history, there have been countless dictators in each country, and the great powers did not punish them every time they did. How many people were harmed by military dictators and how many people suffered in the near past of our country, not a distant country story? But at that time, we remember the past when the rulers of great powers held hands and supported them.

On the other hand, there are people who cause war and cause suffering to mankind, but fortunately, many people around the world are emphasizing the injustice of this war and speaking out against it. Even the UN Security Council faced strong opposition from several permanent members, saying that the war was unjust and could not be favored. Many celebrities around the world also oppose this war as unjust. This war is a dirty war, a war without cause, an immoral war, and one of the most shameful wars in history. It is not God's justice to attack the weak just because they are strong.

We ask an important question here. "Is Almighty God really involved in history to establish His justice in this world, or is He silent?" is a problem. In conclusion, God is the creator of the world, and He is also in charge of all the history of that creation, past, present, and future. God has been in control of history until today and will continue to do so. However, the reason this world seems powerless in front of the logic of power is because God's judgment is on hold for a while. But God has always made history right. God always makes you reap what you sow. In the old days, when Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, etc. believed in their power, ignored God and justice, and waged a bloody war, God punished them. A powerful force in history was the rod that God had raised for use, and when that rod arrogantly leaves the hand of God, the owner, it can only be used as a fire ash along with the firewood. The powerful and those in power must not forget this.

In Isaiah 11, God's goal for His kingdom is recorded. “The wolf dwells with the lamb, and the leopard lies with the goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fat beast are with the young, [7] the cow and the bear eat together, and their young lie down together. and lions will eat grass like oxen, [8] a suckling child will play in the viper's burrow, and a weaning child will put his hand into the viper's den." [9] So the world is full of the knowledge of the LORD, just as the waters cover the sea without harm or damage on all the holy mountain of God.

I pray that God's peace will fill this earth. And I pray in the name of the Lord that a world centered on God's justice and love, not the world of power, will come as soon as possible.
