Title Why Buy (Matthew 06:25-34)
Content Humans are the only beings who live by asking the reason for their life. In other words, only human beings are concerned about the meaning and value of life, worry about it, and sometimes rejoice. So only humans have true joy and despair.
As a college student, you seem to always be asking this question more seriously than anyone else: How do I exist in what shape I am, and what answer did you find?
Among the famous high priests in China, there was a man named Zhao Zhou. A young man asked him why the ambassador came from the west. At that time, Joju replied that it was a pine tree standing in front of the yard. It is literally 仙問答. When Ambassador Dharma asked why he came to China from India, he said, 'It is a pine tree standing in front of the garden', so it is definitely an alumni answer. The cypress tree standing in front of the yard was not planted by Dharma Daishi. No one knows when the cypress tree was planted there. No one knows how they got there. However, when asked why Ambassador Dharma came to China from India, he answered that it was a cypress tree in front of the courtyard, which is a really funny answer. But it's not just a pun on the answer, it has a deep meaning.
The cypress tree in front of the yard is there because it is there, and there is no other reason. Why, where it is, when it is, and who planted it doesn't matter at all to the cypress tree. Dharma is only here because it comes from India. The answer would be that there is no need to ask ‘why’.
You will live by asking and worrying about the many 'why' that I am, why I became a human, I became a man, and I am Korean. The bird in the air doesn't ask why it's a flying bird or why it's a yellow bird. That's why they are pretty and beautiful. The lilies in the field do not ask why I am a lily and not a rose. Why is it in a valley like this, in a place like this where people don't see it? That is why the lily is beautiful and fragrant.
Modern people ask too many 'why'. Ask why. Modern people, especially college students these days, are too theoretical and speculative. It's too tricky. As a result, the anguish never ceases. For this reason, he finds himself quarreling with others and having conflicts and becoming miserable. Humans are geniuses at being unhappy. He is a genius at making himself unhappy, always creating countless misfortunes when there is no misfortune. Why did I become a woman, why is my nose so flat, why my eyes don't have double eyelids, why is my hair this color, and I'm wasting all my time to live happily while asking 'why why why'.
What I say the most these days is that modern people are just busy, not living. When it comes to planning, living and being busy are 100% the same. However, human beings are unique in that being busy sometimes does not coincide with being alive. What is the reason for a man who lives a busy life every day, who gets up at 4 am, goes to work and returns at 12 pm, and when he goes to bed he looks at the ceiling and sometimes sighs, “This is what I am living for” at 4 am It's a busy life of getting up and coming back at 12 o'clock at night, but for him he feels from the bottom of his heart that being busy can't be life.
You have a lot of 'why' questions, but are you really living? William Breik, who you know well, writes in a poem called The Forerunner of Innocence.
Seeing the world in a grain of sand,
See heaven from a single flower of grass.
holding infinity in the palm of your hand
See eternity in one moment.
and sang.
My existence, my life, my life is, in a word, a mystery. Can you say 'why exist, why are you Korean, and why were you born at this time' to the question of 'why' just because you have received a college education? No one can say that. In a word, your life is a mystery. Life is a marvelous miracle, a mystery, a great event for those with an awake soul who can see eternity through the moment, and with open eyes that can grasp the universe in a grain of sand.
I hope that you will not become a life where you look at the superficial life and the world and cling to it, clinging to things like what to eat, what to wear, to become a member of the National Assembly, and to become the president, as you read the Bible, and worry and despair because of it. . May you not be deceived or bound by the superficial life and world. Obviously, our one-time life is mysterious and atmospheric.
I hope that you will be busy looking at the mystical world of existence by looking at the little birds in the air, and seeing the mystical world of life as you watch the ginkgo leaves of Trek fall. I hope that you will feel the world of super survival through grains of sand, and I hope that you will become the possessor of a soul that touches the mystical world of God while looking at the dewdrops on the ends of grass. If you ask ordinary humans why I exist, why am I a human, and why do I live in this age? It is a great happiness to be able to know why you and I are human, why we are in this age, and why we exist through only one, unique One.
One of my favorite Bible passages is John 4:34. In John 4, Jesus was passing through a city called Sychar in Samaria, and while he was about to get a sip of water, a poor woman came to him, trampled on by six men. At that time, I asked the woman for a sip of water, but this arrogant woman talks a lot and doesn't offer a sip of water. But because the Lord knows the woman's past, he peels off her vain thoughts one layer at a time. Why, why am I such a woman, why, I was trampled by six men, and why am I ignorant and lowly? The woman who lived in vain is stripped of falsehood and misery one by one, and the eyes of a new soul begin to open.
Like Breik's poem, you can see the world through a grain of sand and feel the mystery of life in the universe through the word of the Lord. I met the Messiah while the woman left the water jar as it is. The Lord is looking at Suu with a happy expression on his back as he runs into the city.
When it was time for dinner, the disciples went to the city of Suu and brought bread to eat. When the disciples offered bread for the Lord to eat, I had something else to eat. He said that my food is to fulfill the will of God who sent me into this world, and to fully fulfill the word of God. This is the only way to reveal why you and I are in this world. It is said that God sent and that this time exists, that he became a man, that he became a pastor, a professor, and that he became a university student.
Your food, joy, glory, pride, and worth are in accomplishing God's will. Those who say that my food, my joy, and my pride is what I eat, wear, and drink has no choice but to live a lower life. His personality is determined by what he is short, joyous, and proud of. It is the child who makes toys and dolls the joy, pride, and value of having. The Lord teaches us that those who feed on God's work, joy, and pride are called great humans.
Please don't ask 'why, why' in vain. Your life is truly a wonderful mystery. It's an ambassador. When you accomplish God's will through that mystery, you will be able to live an amazing life that exists in 60 or 70 years now, but lives in eternity.
