Why did you order filial piety? Exodus 20:12
Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and mother, that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”
Whose parents are you telling me to honor? Not someone else's parent. your parents'.
I promise that if I honor my parents properly, God will give me the blessing of longevity and health.
Nowhere in the Bible does it promise that you will live long if you exercise hard.
However, it promises that if you honor your parents, you will be blessed with a long life.
Why is it that God even commands us to do it?
1. Don't miss the opportunity to do filial piety.
12174 suicides in 1989 15413 suicides in 2009. Elderly suicides have risen the most.
In addition, the number of runaway seniors is 6,149 per year. That's about 17 runaways a day.
It is said that there are many children who are not even dogs.
When the dog that was taken by the married daughter saw the dog coming home, he said, “You are better than your daughter!” lived with the dog.
If you look at the character “filial piety” in Chinese, it is a strange character.
孝 (filial piety) is a combination of 老 (old age) and son (子). It means that the son is carrying the old man on his head.
In Greek, the meaning of ‘honor’ is <Kaved>, which means “to be valued”, “to be honored”, “to be honored”.
So, honoring your parents is not easy. So that's what God asked for.
I brought the taxi driver grandmother to the police box. My children tell me to take the phone.
What are the consequences of a bad relationship when we don't properly honor our parents?
1) Marital relationship is unhappy.
No matter how ugly a wife is, if she is filial to her parents, she looks pretty.
Also, no matter how pretty a wife like Miss Korea is, if she makes a mistake with her parents, she will fall.
2) Children's personalities are destroyed.
When we mistreat our parents, our children disregard their authority.
I don't want to marry because I'm afraid that someone like my parents might be there.
3) You will fail in interpersonal relationships.
They ignore their parents and fail to serve them properly, who can they serve?
Even when they go out into society, they cannot properly serve their seniors and teachers.
A child without branches means that there are no branches on the buds, and that there is no hope someone? (A person who does not have parents.)
That is why, at least for those who believe in Jesus, honoring their parents is something they should do.
Why did God command it? This is because it is a human duty and does not do the duty or filial piety.
2. Because filial piety is the way to live a happy life.
Deuteronomy 27:16 “Cursed is he who despises his father and mother; let all the people say, Amen.”
Proverbs 30:17 says, "The eyes of those who mock their fathers and do not want to obey their mothers will be pecked by ravens of the valley, and the young eagles will eat them." Even if you die, there will be no one to bury you.
Exodus 21:17 says, “Anyone who curses his father or his mother must be put to death.”
How scary is that? Therefore, it is madness before God to oppose your parents.
People who live like this in today's world are called "crazy people."
Anyone over 50 who wants to sell their house and start a business is crazy.
Anyone who wants to study for a PhD after 60 is crazy.
Anyone who wants to immigrate to a foreign country over the age of 70 is crazy.
Anyone looking for Viagra at the age of 80 is crazy.
Anyone who wants to get a health checkup at the age of 90 is crazy.
But there are some really crazy people.
If you believe in Jesus, you will go to heaven, but even if their parents don't believe in Jesus, a child who doesn't say a word, 'Believe in Jesus' is really crazy.
Evangelism to parents is filial piety among filial piety.
When a person dies, those who believe in Jesus and those who do not believe are different. - (Jesus is the best gift.)
3. Filial piety must be taught.
During the Joseon Dynasty, the king came to visit Gaeseong. The sick mother said, “Son, as a citizen of this country, I have never seen the king’s longan before, but before I die, I wish I could see the king’s longan from afar and die. That is my last wish.”
When the king saw the son carrying his mother, he gave him a hundred pieces of silver and a handful of rice. A disobedient man forcibly carrying his mother and waiting for the king out of greed to earn money should also call him and punish him, not “Give me a hundred nyang.
The king said, “filial piety is good if you just imitate it. That's why I'm staying here." Let's follow. /filial piety/ It's good to just imitate./
Parents should teach their children filial piety.
Parents should be taught what to do when they get sick. Greetings should also be taught.
Without parents, children must be taught what to do. Home education is important.
Don't teach them to cry after death, but teach them how to behave while they're alive.
Teach people to praise
We must teach them to receive blessings before God.
A filial son who serves his parents does not shed blood and tears for others. not evil
Children who serve their parents are children who always give. I get compliments everywhere.
